Enough to scare the tire-kickers off the lot.:)

For a concours-level restoration that results in a vehicle with a value approaching 6 figures, that is a fair price. :)

This thread is the awesomeness!

This seems like the right place to ask my questions. We are closing in on detailing Miss Scarlet's interior. I'm missing two items. I need the unleaded fuel sticker that was between the instrument panel and the light switch. Second interior item is the rear cargo mat. Mine is black. I assume the original was gray. The front mats are gray and in pristine condition. I've seen the reproduction full set for sale. Don't want to purchase the full set and have to resale the fronts. Also need the unleaded sticker above the fuel door. Anybody know where I can find these items?

Quit screwing around Roger....go ahead and have the late model hardtop side quoted before I spend a pile fixing scrap. AND I am still waiting on my 1980 floor mats......hmmmmm

Might be cheaper (or better profit margins) to go to junkyards in the middle east and fill shipping containers of good body panels to send back....but wouldnt be new old stock.

Ive seen 2 nos oem hoods sell in the last year and both were around a grand.

I couldn't and wouldn't want to imagine shipping big body panels. I would end up keeping a few backups for the ones that get damaged by shippers.
Ive had two separate fenders and a hood shipped to me. All packed or crated well and all just barely survived the trip.

Very cool that you were able to source some oem fenders. Its always exciting to see some cruiser magic like that.

If you have a connection over in japan or wherever for toyota goods I would think enough of us stateside are jonesing for anything toyota related. I always want t-shirts or hats with toyota. Could be something easy to sell and ship as well for you if already over there.

I've been waiting 15 years and 4 Fj40s for someone to bring in a container of ME parts. Hasn't happened yet that I am aware of. Keep me posted

I remember reading that the junkyard like the one Marv visited years ago were bought out by China during the boom for scrap metal. Then the issue of where they are in the world. Remember asking a member in the Middle East a few years ago about finding some FJ45LP-B bumperettes in a junkyard there. Told me it wasn't the safest thing to do wondering around.

Funny doesn't seem that long ago parts were easy to find. Just wish years ago when was hard to find FJ40s in junkyards I bought more than I did. What about the Land Cruiser junkyard in Colorado? Did it sell? Remember a few years ago someone posted a picture of a 61 FJ40 that was there.

"Classic Cruisers" in Salida Colorado maybe? I have purchased a few parts from them.....expensive, but they had it.

That may be the place. As I remember the yard I was thinking of was northeast of Denver. Just glad I created my own personal mini junkyard years ago. Now if my wife is glad is another matter.

I think you'll find you need more than just the boot. There is material inside the boot that is likely gone as well.

Yep - not exactly clear as to why it's there - dust sheilding to keep stuff from getting in the booster? I guess to be clear I was thinking a whole replacement boot assembly could be valuable. There have been several posts over the years about replacing that.
