The UG just requires you to drive some distance before you can correct the distance. I just drove around the block a few times, multiplied the number they showed for distance traveled by 1.054 and entered the resulting mileage.

I would be curious to see the difference between the real correction and your estimated one. Not going to be enough difference to really matter much, but it'd be interesting to see at the least.

My is 1995 model but built date is 12/94 and UltraGauge works flawlessly.

The interesting thing about the one I posted on was that it had a build date of 01/95 and OBD-II. It's pretty commonly accepted that most (all?) mid to late 95's had ODB-II.

I will probably say that all US 95 have OBDII. Because mine is 12/94 and it has OBDII. Did anybody have seen 95 without OBDII? I doubt that Toyota have produced any 95 without OBDII, at-least for North American Market.

I've seen reports of 95's being OBD-I.

It's likely the same as when they switched from SF to FF rear axles, non-ABS to ABS, and drum to disk. There are some Cruisers out there that have combinations of those three that they're not really supposed to. The change over for OBD-II started at the very end of 94, but was not totally in place likely until sometime in 95.

When a manufacturer orders parts (in this case the ECU), they do so based on estimates. When they discontinue a part, they will typically drain the pipelines which might mean using an "oudated" part for months after it's been discontinued (or else eat the cost of the part plus extra fee's for not meeting the contract).

Fair enough. I guess i am really lucky to have early 95 with OBDII, cloth seats and lockers:D.

SoCal summer heat took my UltraGuage out last summer. Totally forgot about it until recently. Guess it's time to get another, and not leave it in the window for a couple weeks in the blazing sun.

Mine lives in the AZ sun. The only issue so far is the suction cup that holds it on the windshield is becoming discolored. :meh:

Glad I found this old thread. Just wondering if anyone had an update on their UG. I like this more than the SG and the only benefit I can see that the SG has is TFT which I don't really care about since I'm not towing anything. Does anyone know if UG has made any updates to monitor Trans Temp? My research has shown that the UG has a bigger screen, is easier to program, and can be more finely tuned. Anything else? For the price I don't think the SG is better than the UG.

I just bought one a week or so ago, like it a lot! Its nice to have multiple screens if you want and to have a bigger, clearer display.
Mine doesnt see trans temp or oil pressure, would like to have both of those too...
It was very simple to set up and use, takes a few minutes to get used to the navigation, but not real difficult.

Enjoy

Has anyone found a OBD II extension cable or Y-splitter that allows you to keep the fuse bank covered? I just got my UG, like it, but would like to be able to close my fuse bank "door".

Thanks

Theres a mod to be able to reinstall the cover while still having the gauge hooked up. Never did mine so not too sure what was required to fit it back on.

Take the 2 screws out that hold the OBDII in place. Done.

I used the obdII splitter from AMP engineering. Allows me to have an open obdII port in the stock place for smog and leave the scan gauge plugged in.

Mine should be arriving tomorrow. Anxious to see what my engine temps. really are! And all the other cool stuff.

Yes, it's a cool little device. Engine temp and (accurate) timing are pretty cool. I'm sure voltage will come in handy at some time too. It would be nice if they had a bluetooth option. It seems like one could rig one up. I just don't know if the added cost is worth it.

I was under the impression it doesn't show voltage. Any confirmation on this?

**Fix it. Damn autocorrect!!!***
