And the boy insisted on these

Use the 'hot' Neeses for sausage and you're gonna have a nuclear meltdown.

Please let us know what the problem was when you finally figure it out.

Great to meet you and very grateful you got home safely.

Landtank and Landtank Jr. it was great meeting you. Your cullinary abilities were inspired! However, I saw no grits Saturday morning ...

Could the problem have been as simple as a brake line loosened from all the mud sliding and wheel dropping? I sure hope the solution is found. There seems to have been a lot of unusual cruiser issues this time, and my scientific curiosity has been aroused as to whether there was any relation between the boggy terrain Friday night/ Saturday morning and the breakdowns,

HA HA, the best part is the fire extinguisher in the background:lol:
too bad your outta neeses territory. again glad you made it down, and back safely and best of luck w/ the diagnosis.

If I had any neeses left I would bring it with me to Boston next week, will have to see about next time.

Hey Rick - Cograts on finally making it home!!!

I am sure you and Mike were relived when you finally made it. It sounds like Johnny was only able to temporarily help you out. Hopefully they took care of you at check out.

I'll stay tuned since I am curious about the final, permanent resolution as well.

Good to meet you, hopefully you and Mike can join the club on another outing in the future!

Landtank,

OK, you got me on the oatmeal! But did you smell those eggs, bacon, and grits that the Charleston boys were cooking? No wonder they were driving a piggie!

While I'm sure that the cornbeef hash the Mass. 1st Infantry cooked was both hardy and hard-to-pass, there is something about the smell of thick sliced bacon that gets your heart going (and stops it cold some years later).

All good kidding aside, we thoroughly enjoyed your company and hope you come back soon. We will lift a beer in your honor this weekend at our monthly meeting.

Just to follow up it looks like my MAF extended SS lines were the problem. While they weren't leaking fluid they were allowing air to enter the system. I just replaced them with Slee's and everything seems back to normal. Slee's lines are an inch longer and sheathed so maybe this weird problem might not come around again.

Thanks to everyone for all your help and support!:beer::beer::beer:

MAF=Mannit Ain't Free?

T-pen: Pretty much what we speculated at the oyster roast, eh?

Yes, Man -A-Fre. It's been speculated for quite a while that unprotected SS lines can have dirt enter the weave and with flexing abrasively wear them out. I'm not sure if this is what happened but rubber or steel lines usually leak fluid when they fail.

I had a similar problem on my Pig. Dirt entered the lines up front which made my front brakes fail but my backs kept working...drove it like that awhile (actually from MI to SC) before I figured it out!

Glad to hear you have everything fixed. Hope to see you again on the trail.

Bill and I reached this same conclusion at the monthly meeting: Occam's Razor, the simplest answer is usually the correct answer and we land cruiser junkies usually overthink the problem.:p

Yep.

I figured out your brakes didn't work right after you told me your brakes didn't work.

Also figured out that you needed to get them fixed. Shoulda told you that I guess. :grinpimp:
