I have not decided on a route yet. Have to work out a few details at the office before I leave the "mice" behind to run my business in the ground while I away. (What do you mean, "how much damage can they do in just 3 days"?)

I am open for route suggestions from I-26/I-40.

Thanks

You're traveling south and I'll be traveling north going by Murphy and then across trail 1
Trail 1 isn't for your everyday camper! not until they pave it anyway!;)

Hey Rick,

How did you know where I took my pup to leave with a professional trainer? The map has his town near the center. Feel like I might be in an Outer Limits story!!

Is anyone heading out early saturday from Western NC that I could meet up with?

OK. I'm in! I spoke w/ Juice last night and I'm ridin shotgun for him and anyone that's got an open seat once we get there. And of course, I'm willing to help and volunteer where I may be needed. Sounds like some good times and it'll be nice after Summer Finals on Wednesday!

weather in Murphy will be mid-80's for highs and around 60 for lows...and probably will be a few degrees cooler at our campsite! Only a slight chance for rain throughout most of the trip! :bounce:

updated directions and map link for those going thru Murphy...

Directions from Murphy, NC (from my maps):
From downtown Murphy, you go north on Tennessee Street/Joe Brown Highway about 2 miles. Then turn right at the flashing light onto Hanging Dog Road. Stay on Hanging Dog for about 6 miles. You’ll pass the sign to Crawford’s Campground at the Beaver Dam Rd fork, stay right at the fork to continue up Hanging Dog which will become Davis Creek Rd. Davis Creek Rd. then turns to gravel and becomes Trail One. Stay on Trail One until you cross the short bridge and go left towards Green Cove. This is River Road on most maps. The campground is off of N. River Road approximately 1 mile past Green Cove gas station.

I'm bringing a projector, screen, speakers and laptop. Heather's going to do a Tread Lightly program for us on Saturday too.

I'll have my Honda generator(inverter) for clean power!

I signed up and made it official. Will be there with at least one kid and a dog.

So I basically know how to get to trail 1. Once I am on Trail 1 will i Find Mcnabb campground pretty easily? can someone guide me in from there?

Looking forward to getting to meet all of you guys and

I might be able to come up Friday night or early Saturday. The 40 is sick though. Busted fuel pump. Spent a couple of hours Sunday covered in gasoline.

Is anyone in need of a spotter? I would hate to have to stay in camp and wash dishes while everyone else is on the trail.

Trail one go across the NC state line into Green Cove. Then a right on north RIver road. Thre are two ways to get to camp. I take the longer but easier to find. Especially at night. Your gonna cross a bridge on trail 1 take right there which should be north river rd. McNabb will be on the left. It's hard to see. There is a bridge right after the entrace to the group camp. We will try to have something on the road.

There are plenty of spotter seats as well you can drive a FJC for a while.

I can bring my laptop with loads of pictures from Rubithon, Moab and the FJSummit II, might make for some good discussion...
