might actually work better than some of those tiny extinguishers I tend to see on trail rigs.;) Most of those have about a 3-5 sec burst and that's it.

and typically wouldn't extinguish a lighter... (I have a tiny one too)

i'l' be landspeeder's passenger. i just registered.

Do we really need to know about your "tiny one" ....damn, I hate that I'm missing this OTMT

r u cute?

WHAT? you're not coming?

24000 sky miles and 32 nights in a Hiltons (+ about two weeks in others )......all work and no play this year + this is the last week before school starts and the first week I've been able to take a vacation, and my wife didn't want it to be wheeling and camping. I'll quit my bitchen....glad your able to make it! enjoy the mountain air!

Hey Rick, if Cruiser100 does't mind, could you send my shirt back with him?

Can anyone give me an address to google, we are leaving from sylva. We are coming on saturday and prob be there around noon.

I don't have an address (maybe Marshall has one or a lat/long) but I will give you a warning - do NOT trust a gps unit to get you to the trails/McNabb/Crawfords, etc....trust me on this one...it can make for long, very uncomfortable trips with a very :princess:.

I am making arraignments and hoping to make this trip. (Had to leave early during the April trip to Crawford's CG)

Can anyone tell me if there is cell/blackberry service in that area? And good fresh drinking water or do we have to bring everything in?

Never camped at McNabb before and the FS site seems scetchy.

How about filling in the first-timers on the area and CG, weather, etc.

Thanks alot!

You will need to have fresh drinking water. There is a big stream nearby and it's crystal clear but I still wouldn't drink from it. AT McNabb there is very little cell coverage but it is available on certain parts of trail one and some of the other trails we will be on. You need to be prepared for primitive camping. Granted there are port-a-jons in camp. We rented the whole campground and there will not be anyone other than us around.

Tellico river is a 1/4 mile away and has some good trout fishing. You want to come in through Murphy, NC. There is a Super Walmart wher you can pickup everything. Tellico Plains which is north of our campsite and probably closer has only one grocery store and it's not a great one.

Weather so far looks to be around the mid 80's during the day and mid 60's at night.

I hope you can make it.

Thanks Marshall,

I may pull my camper and "really rough it" since two 9 yrs (boy and girl) and dog are coming. It is self contained too. Just need to find water somewhere rather than drag 40 gals across the mountain.

I know the feeling...I'll be pulling my pimp House across trail 1 with 46 gal. of water and 10 of fuel for the generator!
But well worth it!
See ya there:cheers:

I have not decided on a route yet. Have to work out a few details at the office before I leave the "mice" behind to run my business in the ground while I away. (What do you mean, "how much damage can they do in just 3 days"?)

I am open for route suggestions from I-26/I-40.

Thanks
