yeah, it's pretty awesome when you get mud on the spare tire doing that!!

I saw this in a parking lot yesterday. All 4 in really bad shape. A few more days and they will look like racing slicks... :hmm: About 50% of mud tires I see on full size trucks look like this. I bet they are more quiet now..

Sorry the picture is rotated 90 degrees. It is correct on my computer.

Bald tires and burned out, busted, or bro’d headlights put the libertarian in me at conflict with the “these should not be allowed on the road” part of me.

I agree. However, some of the trailers I see being towed around here in SC make me wish we had tougher rules and regs against putting some of the junk I see on the road.

The only issue I have with bald tires is that it is usually a big mud tire that is so common. You know, the one's that are $200-300 each when a decent street tire, for the same vehicle would be half that. Alignment looked pretty good on that F150. It was evenly worn all the way down. :)

Weather has been pretty bad here last two days or so. Crazy storms every evening. My street was hit fairly hard yesterday. Trees down everywhere. Mine are already gone so my property is fine. I have video of a tree across the street yelling " come at me bro!" How it did not fall is beyond me!

I’ve been off mud for awhile. between a new job, getting married and buying a house all this year I just haven’t had much time for the truck or money for much else. I’m hoping to start getting back into the group after the wedding this fall. I wanted to ask for help though if anyone knows of someone or has a 54mm socket I could borrow this Saturday it would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping to get my bearings and cv axles all changed and buttoned back up. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Congrats/Condolences in the life changes. Regarding the socket: Loaner tools

A month or so ago I was working with a group of foreign "combatants" at a 4WD training, and one of them yelled "Izzy, some advise please", I yelled back "whatever you do, dont get married!" his crew had to laugh since he was trying to say he wanted spotting, but translation.... So, sorry JhadT, I am not your man for advise then.

Anyone up for a run Saturday? Meet at 10 at Hwy 25 and 11 then stop by the Poinsette Bridge for anyone that hasn't seen it. Run up to Saluda from there taking the scenic route for lunch. Afterwards we can meander northeast around Lake Lure to Curtis Creek Road up to the Parkway. After some exploring, head back to Asheville and find a brewery for suds and dinner.

Self quote. If you are coming, let me know here or PM so I know to stop.

200 miles added to the odometer, and most of it the vehicle was moving forward. Found a really fun road/trail north of Lake Adger that went over a mountain and got really stuck in the process. Winch works! Looking at my GPS track now it appears I missed a turn and was on an off-map route. That explains why I eventually came out of the woods onto someone’s driveway. Maybe need to go back and explore the actual road, if you can call it that.

The first time I looked at the picture with the waterfall beside the house, I totally missed the huge tree that fell beside the house. It looks like it took out some of the porch and part of the deck. That would suck to come home to find.

Beautiful place beside that waterfall though...

Can't see it in the photo but there was a room there too. This is just outside Saluda.

Imagine a big ONSC event...........

-8 white cruisers with roof top tents
-Joe Drunk As Hell (that's his full christian name) stumbles back from the camp fire at 4AM (one of the cool kids) pees on a tree and falls up the ladder to sleep in the tent with his wife and kids
-Wait a minute, he's not married and has no kids
-Mr. You're on top of the wrong truck throws his ass to the ground
-Joe Drunk As Hell sleeps in the dirt, just like before he got the roof top tent
