Looks like southeast overland has put there ffj45up for sale!

Any recommendations on body shops in the area? I think it's finally time I got my dents pulled and get the truck painted.

Let me know who you use. Got to cross this bridge next year!

@Montanaconner recently had some paint & body work done pretty inexpensively & intends to be at next Wednesday's gathering. My 62 is still sitting at body shop but I'm not pushing getting it done due to Clemson tuition!!!

i got mine done about two months ago- not perfect, but exactly what I wanted- and sub $2k. I knew that I was just going to beat it up again, so I had him pull out the Major dents and repaint. I have before and after photos and videos I can show on Wednesday!

Who do you longtime locals use for automatic transmission repair and service?

Advanced Transmissions in Mauldin is who Marshall uses and I also had another shop refer me to them before I knew of Marshall!

So long story short, I had an alignment done on the 80 a few weeks ago while I was in VA after replacing tie rod ends and replacing suspension with OME stock height springs. The truck still wanders and follows cracks in the road and any little bump requires a steering correction. It was clear to me the alignment tech didn't know his butt from a bag of rocks when it took him an hour to realize there is a tie rod behind the axle. Where do you guys take your trucks for alignments around the Greenville area? I can't stomach another 500 mile trip to VA with steering like this.

I take my truck to piedmont tire. They are good guys and the only ones I've been to that seem to know what they are talking about without trying to rip you off. Might be a little bit of a drive for you but it's still worth it for a honest place.

I believe Marshall would recommend the Goodyear place in Mauldin on Lauren's Rd. I have recently been impressed with the Goodyear store off Pelham Rd. & one of the techs drives an 80! I've given him my card and told him about the club.

Took the boat out this morning and it is sputtering and backfiring. Had a new coil, electronic ignition on dizzy and timing re done. Mechanic noticed some orange material in the carb. My NATO gas cans have a orange sealer in the inside. Guess its time for a carb rebuild. May attempt this myself.

Who are you all using for your vehicles a/c work? I want to have the r12 pulled and I guess I will go with the redtek12a replacement kit. Seems to get decent reviews.
Or if anyone has negative experience with the redtek please let me know.
Thanks

Goodyear in Mauldin. That being said it sounds like you may need a set of castor correction bushings. Slee sells a set. Since you don't have a big lift you might not need them set very much.

Did you get a report with your last alignment?

We just bought a machine that does both. It might be a few weeks before we have it up and running.

Check your hub nuts too?

I did get a report but I don't trust it. The report showed castor to be within spec. Toe was out and showed adjusted to within spec. After alignment there was no appreciable improvement in steering and handling. I will be bringing it to Mauldin per your recommendation. Stay tuned.
