Random shot in the dark, but didn't somebody over here have a TDI VW at some point? I got ours when momma got the GX and now it seems like I have a Cam or lifters going south and trying to gain a little insight. Guessing if I drop it at a shop I'm going to be looking at a cool $1.5k or so to have it done which is more than the whole car is worth probably, but its paid for and gets 40+ mpg which is handy as much as I drive daily.

Thanks in advance.

Was your TDI not part of the buyback program? I have 2 friends who have Jettas and they both got hefty checks.

@Mav805 maybe? If not I think a few Olde North State Guys have had VW's and would recommend posting on their site.

Nah, ours was a late run 06, last run before the schinanugins started, so no buy back here.

Thanks, I will try over there.

It's a good little car, probably just take it to a good shop and have them do whatever it needs. We are 2nd owner and I have service history all the way back to the first oil change.

My jetty is not a tdi.

My experience with aftermarket window regulators is they are slower than factory. This was a Grand Cherokee (WJ) that is infamous for their bad design and I replaced every one of them and one twice. The aftermarket motors are noticeably smaller and slower.

On yours, try cleaning out the window channels really well with some soapy water. Then go back with a silicone soaked rag and wipe the channels again. This almost doubled the window speed of my 80 when I got it. The channels were filthy!

Yeah I might start with replacing the rubber and cleaning the glass. Been reading a lot on the forum about them, and most are happy. But the prices have gone up and I kinda wanted a local opinion on them.

New North Face tshirt. Not too sure about that load up top.

If it had kids hanging out every window and a few more dents it would look just like Gabes truck.

Lol what it feels like when we camp anyways.

So, is anyone coming up towards horse pasture tomorrow? I may have made it half way in and busted a tranny cooler hose. We got the hose back on, but I only had one quart of atf. It's enough for me to move, but climbing up a hill isn't looking likely. I have a tow strap and so my brother can pull me out if necessary. But if anyone is coming this way. I could use a quart or two

Tried something new.

Perfect end to the 4th or 5th 15 hour day in a row. I'm glad I had my 8 wheel trailer with me and was in TR going slow to let the dogs out before running to Anderson. Had this behind me and the outside tire exploded and knocked the inner tire off the bead. Got to hit the tire shop up when they open in the morning.
