Hey guys. Anyone know someone selling an arb for an 97 FZJ80?

Walker, congrats on your first MUD message & I will give you your first "like"! I was most fortunate to catch Marshall at a weak moment to get him to sell me the one he had stashed away! Will keep an eye out for you....winch or non winch?

A winch would be nice but it's not necessary for me right now. Im just looking for a nice used one that's a good bit cheaper than new

@JToobe, I noticed OTMT was moved to October this year vs August. Typo?

Good catch, I had in my mind that it was October......Also didn't mean to lock down the calendar thread and trying to figure out how to undo that!

Well. Stranded on the side of the road. Looks like the 60 is headed back to Dr. Marshall.

What happened?
That sucks, need any help?

Currently sitting in a parking lot. 432 N. Pleasantburg. Gets up to cruising speed then loses all power. Some kind of oddball fuel issue. Idles fine, revs up pretty solid with the choke, but when at speed while pressing the accelerator, it stops responding without any indication and the engine dies outright.

Tow should be here by 2130.

Edit: Idle was pretty high, 1500rpm. Pulled the choke cable from the carb and it dropped down to the 600-700 I'm used to seeing.

If the choke was being semi-engaged while I was pressing the accelerator, would that flood and cause this behavior?

Tow should be here in an hour. Make that an hour and a half.
Sorry to hear! In the future my phone is 864-567-5964 if I can be of help! Not mechanical but can give a ride, etc

Do you need a ride home?

Sounds more like it's not getting enough gas...fuel pump or carb most likely

So we've arrived at the point where there's too much fuel, or not enough? I figure if the pump was on the way out it'd have an issue idling, but it'll sit there and hum through an entire tank if I let it.

Check the air intake tube. It could be cracked.

Thanks! Scouring the boards now that I'm home. From my reading, it could be vacuum issues though I didn't detect anything noticeable. Didn't see any cracks in the intake manifold when I had the carb off.

I didn't check the air intake tube. Should have done that, and made sure it's not clogged.

Might be good to make sure that @dmark84 didn't install some time delay device to create frustration for you and he offer to relieve you of your pain and agony and buy it back!
