Has anybody tried these u-bolt protecting skid plates from Amazon?

I’ve got them on a build but don’t have any miles on it yet. Would think that the 4 plus unbolt flip kit would work well too.

Personally I'd go with the U-bolt flip kit. I think it's @lcwizard that does the 4plus kit. On my list of things to buy.

I have a set of the "Low Profile Spring Cradles" in my ebay store, they do not hang down below the bottom of the springs like the u-bolt plates/skid plates do- - -just saying, if interested look at ebay #255028337637.

How do you mount the rear shocks?

The FJ40 up bolt flip has a shock pin on the back side. 4plus and Mana free have photos on their web sites.

For 1975-older where shocks mount onto axle housing. If the ebay listing didn't specify that, I will get it revised.

I was wondering if it was for the earlier models. I'm working on a '76.

I may be wrong, because of years and several rum drinks ago. On one of my 40's I have a 55 front axle. I had to trim off a piece on the top of drivers side to get the 40 4plus flips to work. I did it several years ago and have had no issues since.

The mounting bolt HAS to face front to back, not side by side like what is pictured, or the shock eye bushings will blow out.

How do yours look for the rear? I see the front ones on your page, but not the rear ones with the shock mount.
