changed the timing to stock (3 deg) and moved my off road light out of the way of the radiator, but it had no effect on overheating but the pinging stopped. I need an IC.... +/- louvers....

This adventure was not entirely unexpected given my mischief with the rig....

Snow performance, single injector ahead of the sc

But went with the small reservoir tank- that was a mistake. Should have gone with the bigger one and mounted it in the trunk

If it helps, I am running a 6.5gal tank and during the summer I go through about a gallon between fuel fill ups. Maybe a touch more. And remember you can use distilled water in there if you don't have water/meth. Water is actually better at reducing intake temps than the meth is, just without the added octane for knock suppression (which you shouldn't need if intake temps and timing are in check)

Distilled water, really? Hey that does help. Thanks for that!

There is a thread around here somewhere that discusses overheating ad naseum.
i read that entire thread.... took me almost 2 weeks on my lunch breaks!

Scott, out of curiosity, at what psi are you activating the meth and when did you set it to max out?

Mine is triggered a little differently. I trigger mine to spray anytime the intake temp is over 105*, the boost is over 2psi and the RPMs are over 2500.

yep, distilled water (really any purified water), windshield washer fluid (shake it first to make sure it doesn't bubble/foam) or the water/meth mixtures that they charge too much for. lol.

Bug juice is pretty good, but it usually only has about 2% meth in the summer months, just enough to be a great surfactent/solvent. Now, the winter bug juice/deicer has a lot more, so stock up in the colder months. Its WAY cheap. I have heard that it is a good idea to filter it before running as some of the dyes tend to coagulate when stored for a long time. Bad news: We don't ever have colder weather here in Phoenix. I have to go to higher altitudes to find the good stuff.

I built a 4 gallon tank for my snow meth system that goes where a second battery woild have, eliminated the washer tank and use the meth as washer fluid (plumbed the pump into that tank). Having that extra capacity is very nice.
I also have the exact intercooler setup that @DARKNESS put the link up to, was on the truck when i bought it.

Agree on the blue washer fluid. In my searching I've seen a lot of people use the wal mart winter -20 degree blue stuff, supposed to be close to 20% methanol

I'm sucking down a half gallon every trip out... Starting at 5 psi with max set at 7 psi.... Pretty sure I'm managing to go through waaaaay more than what you guys are doing(?)

I used the recommended nozzle....
