My CVs from Marietta Toyota arrived with bent dust shields when I've already asked for extra protection on the dust shields.

If that happens can you just take it to the local dealer and get them to process a warranty claim?

Front Drive Shaft (AKA CV), bent dust shield.

I asked Marietta to repack these, warning them dust shield would be bent. They were warned! and they need to learn to pack properly. I hope you all send them back, to Marietta.

A friend here on mud once sent back a set to McGeorge Toyota, with a note on packing. He was very specific on how they should repack. They did! For the next 2 years, they repacked. Which solved the issue of bent shield in shipping.

It was suggested to return to local Dealership. Interesting thought. Personal I not/don't, and would not take up my local parts guy time with another's laziness. Some parts, I've taken back due to damage, like steering rack. VIN # was required. Don't hold me to this. But it may be one warranty claim per VIN #, on "a" part.

But, yes I bend them back with body tools (Dolly and ball ping hammer). If you need to get the install done now. With care, they'll be fine. But if your don't get straightened. At best they rub, and some shop will wrongly diagnos as wheel bearings set to tight. At worst, they may damage knuckle seal it butts to.

I've gotten damaged brake Master, Steering Racks, FDS and Radiators. Those are items I avoid having shipped by commercial carriers.

Ordered 3/17, still haven’t heard anything asides from the email notifying me of a delay 3 weeks ago. Anyone else over a month in without getting their items?

Yes, same here. Ordered drive belt and pulleys with tensioner. Want have those before my cross country trip in July 🤠

I don't think Marietta Toyota's handling the shipment of large auto parts well. Minimal amounts of crushed paper stuffed in packages and my interaction with their parts store wasn't great.

Bell Lexus's on-discount price for the CVs are ~$400-$426 depending on how the pricing tick (Easter price $426), no core charge.
There's barely a price difference for me since I can't get these cores over 20lbs shipped back from West Coast to East Coast $410 including core at Marietta.

Steering rack from Bell bought last Cyber Monday was repacked in multiple layers of air cushion arrived perfectly.
No core charges for 98-02 CVs, steering rack, starters (I wonder if that applies for transmissions?)
Bell uses a lot of shipping supplies from Uline and their shipping department protect their orders carefully.
I have no doubt they'll have trouble shipping CVs. It's clear I should stick with Bell for big ticket items.

Little off topic as not this sale. But since March 2020, shipping delays and damage, have become the norm. Fed-x, the most damaging shipper in my area. Just yesterday their guy, tossed into the air and on to my porch a package. As I was walking to him, to grab it. He was so focused and in a hurry, he didn't see me. He was actually running. Package landed upside down, based on sticker: "This side up" "Fragile" "Glass". Seller/shipper pack very well, fortunately.

Any seller/packer not taking extra care in packing, is one that is either and idiot or doesn't care.

That is exact reason why I choose OEM radiator. I believe most aftermarket radiators themself are just as good, if not better. However, most of the packaging on those aftermarket radiators are really not designed for US public logistic shipping system ....

If you haven’t already, email Eric. When I reached out, he responded same day and gave me an estimated ship date which was exactly was when it went out.

I was less patient because my order was small and I had a project sitting at a standstill waiting on a part.

I will say that even the Toyota packaging leaves a bit to be desired. I picked mine up at the dealer since I did not want to deal with possible shipping damages and it still was slightly beat up just going from the LA warehouse to my local dealer over some 400 miles.

I've been lucky. My local Dealership is just a few miles away. They've a warehouse, a truck form the KS depot comes in from 5 days week to. FDS, Radiator, brake master, steering rack, that do come from KS, are as good as it gets. Never even 1 bent FDS dust shield. But sometime they fed-ex in from IL or LA. Those I end up returned all to often.

ordered this stuff from Serra on the 18th. no word yet, other than the "be patient" email

I ordered a set of upper and lower rear control arms from Serra on March 22nd. Got the be patient emails and even contacted Eric a couple of times to check on status.

He replied quickly and once they shipped sent me a tracking number. I just had them delivered today!

In retrospect I should have ordered 2 FDS during this sale but didn’t. If I could find OEM FDS right now for $400 I’d buy them. Hopefully I’m paying attention next time a sale like this is going on.

Called, said they’re working on orders March 16-21st. Hopefully that means I get my stuff soon… couldn’t get an exact update on my order though as Eric was out.:meh:

Placed two orders, one on 3/18 and 3/22. Paypal dropped the one on the 18th at some point. Just got a call from Decatur for updated payment information. Expect to ship out my orders this week or next.
