Whiskey flavored tobacco huh!Sounds pretty good, considering I have not had a drink in 2 1/2 years.Whiskey was always my downfall. If your motor is working in the tailgate, then order a brass gear, and Ill put it in for some parts, and a little whiskey tobaccy.Matt

Holy crap I had a bad couple days. Just driving down the road in pigtown I heard and felt a pop and I thought it was the Aussie in the just popping into place. Once I got to my destination I saw a trail of oil spots going out the back so I looked under the pig and the toyota t case was cracked down the middle! I couldn't believe it! So I parked it in front of my barn and I'll have to toss in another 4 speed t case. Then start saving my pennies for 203/205 combo. I think that set up will serve me better.
When that happened to pigtown I was on my way to the barn to work on my damn Westy. So last I updated I had snapped a head stud. I ordered a new set that I didn't realize were coming from new York. The problem with that is that I was in a hurry to get it together for a trip to Montana for my great grandma's 99th birthday. So I sourced a single head stud locally to get it together. Got the stud in and installed the head again and snapped a exhaust stud. Out came the head again and drilled and chased the hole for a new bolt and installed the head again and fully assembled the engine and it leaked out a water neck due to a stripped bolt hole in the head. So I gave up and we drove the 4runner instead. For the amount of time I've thrown that damn wasserboxer I probably could have pit in a subaru engine by now.....

Those westfalias suck.Just give it away.As a matter of fact,I could come up and haul it away for ya.

Yup. I will keep that in mind. You're chances of that happening are about as good as seeing a 9 foot tall midget.
Back from seeing granny in Montana. I will be doing some barn time tomorrow morning. Can't decide if I want to keep plugging away at the damn Westy or swap tcases in pigtown......

Haven't touched the pig. been busy with volkswagon. I hate that waterboxxer engine.
But I did get a different trailer! I'm not sure if it's too much for the pigtown with it's current transfer case and semi floater axle but that may be changing this winter to something more beefy. But here's the trailer for now parked next to the previous trailer. The trailer I had already is the one on the right which is a 3/4 ton m101. the new one on the left is a m105a2 1.5 ton massive trailer! the wheels are just shy of 40 inches on the tape measure! Holy friggin' crap!

The m101 is basically the same size as a fullsize long bed pick up box. The m105a2 is 9 inches wider and 14 inches longer and just overall big.

Wow, where are you getting these trailers? Geez I have been looking for one for a year

The first one I got from a co worker in trade for cleaning his carpet. I'm a professional self employed carpet cleaner. So I cleaned his house for the trailer. Then I saw the 2nd trailer on ksl which is a local news station that has classifieds on it's website for 150 bucks. So a buddy bought the first one from me for 150 so I could get the second one. Wasn't expecting the 2nd trailer to be the larger 105a2. I'm actually a little bummed. Now I need to find another 3/4 ton 101. But my primary purpose is to haul firewood so the large 105a2 works out pretty good for that. I should be able to get 2 cord of wood in it....

Another day more bloody knuckles. Got the busted tcase out of pig no problem. Donor tcase is out of a 75 fj40 which gave me tons of trouble and made me want to burn the whole thing down. Tried to pull the tcase and that just wasn't happening. So since long term for that 40 is a V8 sm465 and 205 tcase for a friend I pulled the engine tranny and tcase in one unit to get the higher ground on that tcase. Was finally successful. I'll be at shop in the am before the day job to install it into pigtown.

I am trying to remember, what happened to the pigtown t-case? Is it rebuildable?

negative. damn near cracked into two pieces. Why? Need one?

sent you a pm pablo. Did some pigtown work today. Have replacement tcase in. still have to put crossmember back in and hook up driveshafts. A few other random things then I take pigtown to low range offroads show and shine swap meet thing tomorrow. I'm thinking I'll drag the big 1.5 ton military trailer down with a for sale sign on it maybe.....

bad day. again.
Went to that low range offroad thing in provo utah. Got there late and missed 95 % of the festivities. Left and headed to have dinner then headed towards salt lake. Blew out a rear tire on I-15 and I mean blew out I got pulled off to the side and had two tears in the sidewall at opposing ends of the tire. Since a 60 inch hi lift jack has to go damn near to the top to get the tire off the ground I had just bought a bottle jack just for changing tires. But with the top of it screwed out until it reaches the axle it doesn't have enough stroke to get the tire off the ground, had to use hi lift anyway. Also since I have just got this thing together I haven't gotten the tool box mounted in the back so had limited tools which means I forgot the star lug wrench. So all of the fooling around with the jack issue was done under the supervision of the father in law who took me to the parts store to get the lug wrench and the trooper who pulled over to check on broken land cruiser just as we returned with shiny new lug wrench. It was a fantastic afternoon. My spare is weather cracked so it needs replaced real soon. But heres a pic of pigtown from the boring side on a flex ramp at low range offroad. I took this pic first and then walked around to get another pic and didn't because there was like 8 guys on the other side. I should have waited a second then took the pic but I didn't.
