I got fenders on today and also got a shot of the crossmember installed. The skidplate under the toyota tcase hangs below the frame just over half an inch everything else is above the bottom of the frame rails.

Today I got both axles out from under pig and pulled the front axle off of the donor fj60. I was driving the 60 around until I decided to sacrifice it for the good of my pig and the 40 that I'm gonna work on after I finish this push on the pig. Things are going ok I guess but I very little time left to get it ready for moab. I'm installing a shackle reversal on the front and using the rear springs on the front then putting 63 inch chevy's on the back. So I have to cut off and move all 8 spring mounting locations. So tomorrow I start on that with 2 ten packs of cutting wheels from harbor freight....

PROGRESS! I have the 50 inch rear leaf springs moved to the front with a shackle reversal. On the back is a set of junkyard fresh 63 inch springs that are stupid soft!!!!!!! It's getting really close to moab time. And I'm almost ready. There is definitely going to be things that need to be finished when I back from moab. But so far pretty sure I'm gonna make it. It will be trailered there so the interior doesn't have to be complete. Very pleased with the softness of the rear springs. The fronts are kinda hard, they are stock rears with an overload. If I lose the overload it lose some height. So maybe in the future I will switch to rear fj60 lifted springs. Here are the pics.

Looking good!!!

Let me know when you are coming down this way!!

A friend of mine does some upholstery work so he did up my panels with black burlap and a stripe of leather. They turned out real nice!

So I didn't get it all together in time for moab. Here is how she sits now behind my shop which is a barn. I need to pull the dizzy and re-stab it and make some adjustments. After that now that I'm not in a hurry to get it ready for an event I have some rock rails to make and small amount of body work and definitely an anti wrap bar. The last shot shows the view from frame level from the side to show the lack of anything hanging down.

Love those Door panels. They look Sharp.

Saw them and the truck in person yesterday, totally sweet.. It looks even better in person and is also really cush inside as well for several pretty awesome reasons.. There is also no hanging drivetrain underneath which is truly remarkable... Nice work, 'oinker.. :D

Hey thanks andre!

My time in shop took a drastic turn. Before I was spending 20 to 30 hours a week in the shop now it's more like 5. So anyways haven't gotten the exhaust built yet because I've been battling with the damn timing. Can't get it to run. But I will conquer it.....

WOW, inspirational. need to get back and do some more work on my PIG!

I find myself needing some of that inspiration. I have hit the dreaded brick wall that comes at the tail end of a build. My work got busy and finally got the second job I need for when the "day job" isn't consistent enough to pay the bills. So I got busy and the second job at the same time. Fantastic timing! Hopefully I can get a few days to spend on it real soon. I even got the insurance for it turned back on in anticipation of driving it. I must make it cruiserfest and relic run and I really want to take it to the uintahs when they open the gate for the summer to go snow bashing.

This rig is the BOMB! It looks way nicer in person to....like Andre stated. I'll be back in the barn in October......headin back to 907 for a few months.....thanks for all the help and parts and cookies from the wifey too. most of all thank you for the friendship! talk soon!

Tom, you sir are a champion buttkisser. Oh by the way thanks for bringing that torch set up up to my shop for me to use over the summer. I really do appreciate that. That's a huge deal. Thanks. Also I may have got myself a pair fj80 axles for the pig.......unlocked but that is fine with me. Locked ones are a fortune! Especially for guys like us who build our own rigs. Built not bought.

"Built not bought"

Love that quote! i might steal that one!

Won't be stealing it from me! I saw it somewhere. Pretty sure it was a bumper sticker on a shelf. I have no idea why I didn't buy some.
if all goes well I should be picking up the 80 axles in a couple weeks. Now I need to figure out how to get some manual locking hubs on the front axle. I have no intention or desire to have the front turning always.....
