I would never wear those sneakers to begin with . Nike brought him to the dance, they can have him. Pretty soon I won't be able to buy anything due to political correctness. I have decided to weaponize my money and only do business with places that share in my beliefs. I am running out of places to shop, darn morals and ethics.

I get why people make a direct association with the rebel flag and slavery....I get it......but now we're associating early versions of the American flag with slavery? We can't just throw out every symbol of our country's past because we made some poor decisions back then.

What if Nike purposely designed a stupid looking shoe and somehow clandestinely planted the racism seed in that failed-sports-player's mind, knowing that there might be enough public outcry about his influence over the company that they could justifiably terminate his contract under an 'indecency' or 'morality' clause? They'd be geniuses.

BUT... It's corporations like Nike who influence the young and/or uneducated by signing people like CK and giving them a public platform for their opinions (dissent, in this case) that are causing the real harm. He will one day be dismissed from whatever position he holds there, and it will most definitely be due to financial reasons (real, imagined, or future) because Nike will sure as s*** value making money over supporting the opinions of an individual. We can only hope that they will then find a new wunderkind (ala Michael Jordan) to help them market their wares instead of another uneducated, self righteous, headline grabbing moron who's last big hurrah will be forever remembered as being deemed unhireable because he used his personal opinions to make up for the fact that he was far from the sports player he saw himself as.

And all I want to do is buy a container load of all the rejected shoes Nike removed from the market at 10% on the $ and sell them to all the haters (from whatever politico-religious-racesuprematic mindset) at 120% of original market price so they can burn them and make videos, and they have to buy many pairs to get them burning right.

From the Chicago Tribune article about this:

"In 2016, a Michigan chapter of the NAACP said the flag has been "appropriated by the so-called 'Patriot Movement' and other militia groups who are responding to America's increasing diversity with opposition and racial supremacy." The statement came in response to a high school football event where the NAACP said some white students used the flag while attempting to intimidate players from a predominantly black school.

The Anti-Defamation League says "Patriot movement" describes groups that include militias and others who have adopted anti-government conspiracy theories. The ADL says there is some overlap between the "Patriot" movement and the white supremacist movement, but that overlap has shrunk over time."

Betsy Ross was a badass knitter. Knitters will mess you up if you mess with them! "Everyone uses Ravelry": why a popular knitting website’s anti-Trump stance is so significant

Now, I found these for sale at $3,020 with the flag from Puerto Rico (or Captain America if you prefer). That's squirrel sheet nuts.

Back to important things....Poldark! Why did Elizabeth had to die!!!! What the hell! Sorry, censors, What the heck!

More poop pipe rants...

Looks like when the line was installed (sometime in the 90s), they placed a clean out about 50’ from the street. Nothing bad here...but it had been subsequently covered with dirt and gravel so when we moved it 6 years ago we had no clue it was there. Our subsequent work in the back yard (pool, shop, etc.) had more then a few cement trucks over top of this hidden clean out. Digging found this clean out was cracked at the ‘y’ and a nearby tree subsequently infiltrated the line and had it pretty much fully blocked. We’re 2 for 3 with clean out cracks...geesh.

Plumber got everything sorted today, guy is a boss and will be my first call for any future plumbing needs.

I thought maybe it was the ladder at the neighbor's house.

Or the elusive ONSC sticker I put on my wife's truck. Per the mailman in Eric's neighborhood, they are hard to come by. Ha!!

That ladder has been there for two years. A few months ago he put up a smaller aluminum one sideways. Not real sure what his repair is but it will quickly become an issue if "peoples" try to use it to enter my residence via second story.

That's capitalism, right there

I'm gonna keep my mouth mostly shut about the Toyota dealer that tried to charge me 53% over MSRP for parts...unless I hear nothing back from the GM's boss. I had tried this afternoon to order parts at a dealer I could pick up from in the town I'll be in on Monday. When I asked if it was SOP to charge more than MSRP, he said "yes", and "that's just the way it is in the world". I had never been as nice to someone who was trying to **** me with a stick as I was with this guy. He made no attempt at a compromise or concession. I want to visit him and give him back his stick.

Wayne at Scott Clark Toyota read my after hours email about the situation and stepped up ASAP from his cell phone to handle the problem. He has always taken good care of me...but I just today found out that I needed certain parts to be delivered to VA ASAP...I figured a dealer up there would be a good source and I could get by without a shipping charge. Whoops. Nope.

I went into my dealership here in Roanoke (same place that did the gas tank recall on Buster Brown) and they wanted to charge over $8 for an oil filter. I asked if they price match online and he said no. I mentioned Norwalk selling for $3.68 and that I would not pay more than $5.41. He charged me $5.41 per filter and said something about how they used to get bulk discounts but those days are no more. Like they would pass the discounts on to me, ha! Toyota charges what the market allows and MSRP is really just a suggestion. Shopping between Roanoke and Harrisonburg dealerships show wild differences in the cost of the same part. Makes me miss LCPC.

So I thought it would be a good idea to use an old camera with B&W film at the CRR just for practice and to see if I could still use the old camera. Tried one studio for processing, no they don't so it anymore, tried Walgreens, they sent it off and a week later it came back with the excuse they can't process B&W film anymore. Tried Walmart, big stupid idea. They waited TWO weeks before it was sent off. After three store visits to see if it was back and a final call on 6/29, the film still wasn't back. A call to their C/S line finally produced numbers for Fuji film and then to the right person who knew where my film was. It arrived in the store on 7/1 and I waited to get a phone call telling me it was back. Today I want to Lowe's and then to Walmart to get the film. At first they couldn't find it and told me it wasn't back and once I told them when it arrived and who signed for it they managed to find it. SURPRISE! The envelop states twice the negatives will not be returned but the photos will also be on a CD. I have the photos but the CD is missing. Walmart tells me it is up to me to contact Fuji for the CD. I'm PISSED! Of course, it is Walmart and I should have my head examined for even thinking about sending film off to be processed there.
