Yeah, that copper line is an EXTERNAL feed, not internal like factory. Usually done when there has been a pressure issue with the stock feed off the cam, or a collapsed stock tube. The external line usually 't's in to the oil pressure sending unit fitting on the block. It's a little crude, but VERY effective.

REALLY nice to see this project moving along Erik.:)

Question for the group.. I've got an H55f sitting on the shelf.. and long H42 on the shelf.. Regardless I'd rather put the H55 in BUT..
I need to either rebuild this front axle housing or use a spare sitting in the garage.. Has anyone run an H55F with 33's and 3.73's? I have a set of 3.73's sitting there or should I just stick with the 4.11's.. It'll be 3fe, (Probably H55) splitcase, 33 10.5's. Now is the time to decide. Do I just rebuild this front axle and leave it 4.11 or build a different housing with 3.73's..
Pro's and cons? Not positive I can get the H55 together yet or not as it needs a new output shaft but hoping to.. (Looking on Ebay for an output there is a company in AUS that sells them, stating the same shaft fits 4 and 5 speeds, have not popped off tcase to confirm)

Stick to 4.11's with H55 and 33's
3.73 with H55 and 33's
OR Erik just get it going with the known good Long H42 and 4.11's that are in there! Swap in the H55 later.. Cause your driveshafts will already be the proper length.

SPI Epoxy, Recommended by many hot rod guys and restorers.. HVLP gun, Homemade Paint booth in the garage complete with plastic walls that roll up and tie to the ceiling, A squirrel cage fan from an old furnace as an exhaust vent to outside and furnace filters for the air coming in. That way I can tape off the section of the house from the fumes. it's negative pressure to the outside, which if I used it all the time would mess up the "HVAC" at the house but all I do is flip the switch on the furnace(off) and paint. Not like i'm painting all the time.. Jenn can turn on the electric blanket if she gets cold.
Not the best thing but very practical considering I live in a residential area.

Since the H55 has a low first gear, 3.73 with 33's seems like a good 'streetable' axle ratio -- good highway speed and you'll be able to utilize 1st gear when starting from a dead stop.

With that said, and not to hold up the project, I'd probably stick the H42 and 4.11 so you can get her finished and on the road. You know you want H55 but are unsure about it with 3.73. This will give you time to research and decide while rebuilding the H55.:hmm:
