The crew got more done today--the 2F is back between the frame rails! Also, Thornton installed a new rear-main seal and we inspected the pilot bearing, clutch, flywheel, throw-out/release bearing. All is in satisfactory condition. Next up...John Smith's rebuilt transmission and rebuilt transfer-case!

It would have been finished yesterday but I ran into an issue with the double seal bearing retainer Mark sent me. I believe it is from a 3 speed case and the bolts from the 4 speed won't work. So I need to cut down two bolts or source 13mm graded bolts somewhere. Either way it will be done this week and I'll deliver it this coming Sunday.

Oops! Just sent John Smith a PM--shoulda' looked here first! Way to go, John, see you this Sunday.

Had a good turnout with Bart, Steve, Tracy, Ed, Tom and yours truly.

Delivery of the tranny and transfer were delayed so we replaced a few seals, borrowed a carb from Tom's magic parts cabinet and with some electrical wizardry by Professor Ed and a consult with Josh we got the engine running. We didn't have it fully plumbed, and developed a leak at the mechanical oil pressure sender so we only ran her long enough to verify that she runs.

We tried to put a new water pump on her, but we need one with the oil cooler fitting, so hopefully someone can locate a donor pump for us.

I have a used spare I'd be willing to donate, but it just occurred to me that with the cash that Rising Sun has donated and Rocky Mountain Land Cruisers said they would, it might make more sense to buy a nice new aftermarket water pump for $100 or so?

We are hoping someone will donate a pump so we can use the cash for things that are hard to ship (paint, supplies, etc.)

Thanks beno, pm sent

Don't think we have the smog pump either

We've got one now (smog pump), thanks to the fine folks at Iron Pig Off Road.

Also picked up a replacement for the brake breather bolt (whatever it's called). This one is slightly different but I'm told it will work.

More progress on the Raffle Truck. Earlier this month (December), Emorth came over and did some electrical magic--he got a starter switch circuit hooked up, and we fired up the 2F!!!

Also earlier this month, John Smith brought the rebuilt transmission/transfer-case down to the Thornton Farm.

On Sunday, 16 December, there was a good showing of CLCC members--Thornton, TRFCSUX, novasteve, Von Hayek, Chris, and me. We got the body and fenders mounted/aligned. We laid the hood on for a visual check--this thing looks GREAT!!!
