how much does it weight? just wondering what effects it'll have on an ahc front suspension.

One of the lighter bumpers. Easily lifted it myself. The exact weight can be found in the product details. If you add a winch as well things get much more heavy. Will prob have to adjust your torsion bars either way but if you do a winch as well I would recommend stiffer TB or a reindex at the least

I know there are others with this bumper who aren't satisfied with the fog lights. From the driver's seat I couldn't tell if mine were on or off, even after putting in some LED bulbs. I decided to get some 2" cube LEDs and wire them to my fog lights switch. I used the existing holes in the bumper and the wiring was super easy. I bought the Rough Country 2" spot cubes, fyi. Very happy with the result- visibility directly in front of the vehicle is greatly improved.

Man I like this bumper.

For what it's worth - have run this bumper for about 6 months [winter/summer] and am happy with it. Not killing 'roos and not poser'ing. It's good for more clearance and giving lights a place to live. Would trust it if wrecked - and frankly, it's not overkill.

Has held up well to weather as is and can be altered with lighting to suit your needs. Otherwise, the winch mount is stout and looking to add that in the future for good measure.

Stoked - ordered this bumper and winch plate and should receive it hopefully in the next couple of weeks. According to TJM everything’s on a container waiting to be distributed into US vendors. Looking forward to adding the LED spots someone earlier in the thread modded to fit in those holes on opposite sides of the license plate. Appreciate the pic @JPTX of the install on your LX, I am nervous about cutting below the headlights for fit to my LX and it helps to see the outcome looks so good. Happy 40th to me indeed!

I really wish a full brush bar was an option with this bumper. The ARB and Ironman are just big massive bumpers. The T13 looks good, but I believe it's beefier than the T17 as well.

I almost bought one of these but I live in Georgia and deer are everywhere so I wanted the added protection of the ARB Deluxe. I got the ARB and Smittybuilt XRC winch for just under $1500 with free shipping from 4WheelParts.

What do u think of that winch? That is what I am planning on adding in.

I wanted a Warn but didn’t want to spend the money. Plus, in actuality I probably won’t use it a ton. I’ve only used it once and it worked great.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out to do the wiring on my 99 LX470? The instructions are not correct. I plan on adding a light bar like @JPTX that I'd like to use in place of the fogs. But, I'm unsure which wires to connect to what for the turn signal and marker lights?

The factory Green and white with black strip wires were for the turn/markers and the factory red and white with black stripe were for the fogs. The supplied TJM lights have a green wire, red wire and black wire. What goes where?

Would I just cut off the factory plugs and solder the wires together?

Then would I connect one of fog light wires to the light bar?

yes you need to cut and solder. Your plan sounds right to get the light bar in for the fogs. The white with black stripe should be ground since it is on each plug. the directions aren’t right but it’s easy to tell when you look at the wires which go to turn signal which to fog. Good luck!
My picture isn’t super helpful because I covered up the connections but it’s three connections, and the ground connects two black/white wires with the ground from the bumper fog.

Bumping an older thread with a basic question: how do I access the connector for the turn signal lights? It’s a 99 tlc. I can’t figure out how to contort my hand to get to and pull out the connector. I can see it and touch it with my fingers. I want to splice the tjm lights. Thanks.

I'm also wondering about retaining the factory recovery points. The instructions said to discard them and just replace the tow hook, but would it be a problem to keep the factory recovery points? Or will I need to get longer bolts to allow me to do this?

If you connect them to the factory fog light connector when you fire your high beams the light bar will cut off? So unless you've retrofitted you headlights to HID your not adding that much usable light down the road. Why not just wire them to a switch so you can run them at will.
