I have depo’s And could swear they are plastic.

I think we now have a testament to the lens durability of the glass Depo headlights! :)

I'm 99% sure that all Depo headlights made for the Land Cruiser 80 series (which they list as FJ82, for some reason) are glass, with plastic housings.

Here's a link to their catalog, for no particular reason:

Another big fan of the DEPO's, the glass lense makes it the best aftermarket option IMO, use the OEM trim pieces and the outward quality is very good. The buckets and adjusters aren't quite to OEM quality, but acceptable. I've got an HID retrofit in mine and the light output is amazing! On my previous truck I had DEPO's with 65/100w bulbs and light output was pretty good like that as well, better than stock for sure.

I have had Depos with a custom harness for 8 years. About 2 years ago, I noticed one of the H4 bulb shrouds had broken. Looked some, but I don’t think I can find a replacement.

I guess I have to do an HID or LED projector swap after catching up with major maintenance.

Before it broke, it did give better light than stock with a HIRs. (Tried that too.)

I love mine, just have to seal them up with some silicone..
I did paint the chrome inside cover part.
way more light with HID bulbs then the old stock lights

I did a quad bixenon projector retrofit in mine because I think the Depo output sucked as bad as oem. However, after many hard trail miles with the heavy projectors pounding away at the adjusters, I can say there's no issues with the internal hardware.

Ive had mine almost 4 years now with no issues. Even the trim has held up well, but I'm in the South so I don't get the road grime and salt.

Please elaborate on this rally light harness you speak of?
Susquehanna motorsports website is rallylights.com. when I got my depos there were 2 harness options. The slee and susquehanna.

Ray at susquehanna designed and built a harness that lights both hi and low beams when in high. The harness itself is very beefy compared to the slee.

Call them and ask for ray. He will set you up.

Been rocking Depos for a few years with a quad projector retrofit and they work great.

Pics? I'm looking to upgrade my OEM's and I like the look Depos. I'm not a fan of the halo's. They look great a OEM on my Range Rover. But I think a 90's Rig looks stupid with these Euro/Modern headlights. The Depos are a clean looking slice between. IMO of course :flipoff2:

I'm a bit confused on the "retro" kits, HID and Projectors talk. The Depos appear to come ready to install standard Halogen bulbs. I'm assuming that the retro kits will allow for HID bulbs? LEDS? Where do you get these? The projectors are a separate up grade all together. Correct? So, is the harness' spoke of as well?

I understand that I can get the Depos and the Harness', but how do the HID and projectors work with that combo?

With the Depos, what are people doing for the corner lights? I prefer those clear lens ones that I see around on this site.

Please advise.

@LandCruisinMy93 , I have a set of depo's I doubt I will ever install down here in the Rogue Valley, if you wan them. 98% sure they are glass depos.

I have had my depos for a few years, one took a rock and damaged the lenses. I would recommend lamin-x or something like that to protect the glass.
I did a projector retrofit and I couldn't be happier with the output. I have morimoto mini h1 projectors in place of the h4 and 100w hella yellow star h1 bulbs in the high beam spot.

HID bulbs require a projector be retrofitted to properly focus/cutoff the beam, so you can consider them one and the same. To retrofit a projector into the housing requires custom work, but the results are amazing. This is the most expensive route you could take. I have a bi-xenon setup in the low side of my DEPO's with a 100w halogen bulb on the high side, when the highs are engaged the shroud is pulled back on the projector (that provides the cutoff associated with HID's) so you have full HID output as well as the high beam, the output is phenominal. Makes my IPF aux lights redundant honestly.

LED bulbs are becoming popular, they are instant on so a great option for high beams, but I still prefer halogen or HID for low beams as LED doesn't seem to generate the heat to clear ice/snow from the headlight lenses, and it's winter a lot where I live. In warmer climates it may be a non-issue.

You can use any OEM or aftermarket corner lamps with the DEPO headlights. JDM OEM are clear, LX450 OEM are half clear/half amber, and LC80 OEM are amber lenses. Any OEM are better quality than aftermarket. Amber lense on the corner lamps are required to be legal in Canada, not sure about the US.

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure. They were found at a goodwill type place. Been sitting in my garage for 2yrs+. I can take pics if you want.
I honestly couldn't tell just by a picture. Yet another reason I'm hesitant on buying non oem headlights. The DEPO's listed on eBay are listed for 90-97 and I'm pretty sure the 95+ headlights are different from the pre 95 headlights. I don't want to run off and buy something that doesn't fit properly. Why do factory lights have to be so ridiculously expensive!
