All I need for the tag lights are the chrome covers. Mine are OK so I'm not going to change them out until I find a good pair...on the other hand my hinges are teh suck and I could really use a pair for the front. I need to find out from k9loco which side she is sending since I believe the bottom hinge is side specific...thanks!

And an update for tonight. I was able to paint and clearcoat the inside portion of the passenger front door...nothing too exciting but its progress.

I guess that means that I have to figure that out, huh? Well, all good intentions to get those hinges cleaned up for you tonight turned into a nap. I promise...soon.

Sleep > hinges! I'm going to see if I can use Marshall's cabinet this weekend to clean up my hinges. No rush at all...I have PLENTY of other things to do!

I got a couple hours in today. Finished painting the passenger's front door and started painting a rear door then the rain hit. While raining I sanded the passenger's rear quarter and tried punching out a dent but it looks like that area will remain 'raisin.' I also worked on cleaning up the lower sections of the A, B and C pillers on the passenger side. I have some rust poking up from the top of my rockers that I won't be able to reach with any POR so eventually I'll have to cut out the IPOR rockers to deal with that.

I'll be taking off the entire Labor Day week so that should give me at least 4 8-hour days to get caught up. I'll try to post some pics later in the week.
 
I got about an hour or so in yesterday after work. I finished painting the inside of one of the rear doors and hope to paint the white on the outside of that door today after work. That will leave me green on that door and then the other whole rear door to finish. I finished (I think) cleaning up the A, B and C pillars on the passenger side of old paint. I now need to degrease and etch which will hopefully happen tomorrow then I will POR the pillars (the lower half) and throw some Rustoleum semi-flat on the IPOR rockers.

I hope to get all of the body work I need done (lower pillars, doors, rear quarters) by mid next week so I can drive to a friend's garage hopefully and get some help replacing some seals...we will see!
 
Got a little done last night. Its amazing what a can of spray paint can do to make sliders look new.

Pic 1) Passenger slider painted and A, B and C pillars cleaned up in my search for rust. The only thing I found that worries me is rust on the factory rocker - or what is left of it. I am going to POR the outside for now and try to slap some on the underside but eventually the IPOR rockers will have to be cut out, the rust treated, and the IPOR rockers re welded in. No biggie.

Pic 2) This is the result of what I call "Todd's Folly." :grinpimp: I've been working on pushing this dent out a bit. It came from when a PO flopped the Piggie on its side at GSMTR. I am going to see if a slide hammer can't help out a bit. I'm not looking for perfection - just smaller raisin patches. You can also see where I have been working on cleaning up the rear quarter. I have about a one by three inch section of rocker I need to cut out to get rid of some rust. I also need to weld shut some holes, weld the wheel well back to the rear quarter, then it will be time for paint on the rear quarter (only ODG as I will paint the white section when I replace the rear rubber) and I'm going to wire wheel out the wheel well and slap up some undercoating.

Two more pics. You can tell that I don't have much time to work on this rig as it was dark when the pics were taken. I have a rear axle for a 40 that I need to disassemble for a fellow club member and get some parts back to him but its hard to do in the dark!

Pic 5) Passenger rear door painted white. Underside is already painted. Today I hope to get the ODG on and slap on some matte clear coat on the green and move on to the last door.

She's very sensitive to poking and prodding. :D

I was afraid that I'd break that window again if I popped that dent out. Funny thing though, the only infomercial product I've ever purchased was a Dent Doctor. Worked surprisingly well on small dents and even on some medium sized dents. But the dent in the back of the pig shrugged and laughed at the Dent Doctor. No way.

If by "Dent Doctor" you mean one of those big suction cups my neighbor had one. I stuck it to this big dent and started pulling from the outside in. It worked well until it hit an uneven surface it couldn't stay stuck to. I decided to give it one last good tug. I thought it was holding fast but apparently not. It popped loose and I went stumbling about 20 feet backwards into the house. The neighbor of course was watching and found the entire scenario hilarious.

I had that very same experience, except I only brought the Dent Doctor out in the dead of night when no one could see me using it. :rolleyes:

Todd has a good point - before I do any more prodding or pushing I am going to need to remove that rear window. I would not be happy if I broke that glass.

For the time being I am going to leave that dent as it is and slap some POR or primer over the bare metal. When I pull the headliner and the rear windows I'll work more on that dent.

Dang - I've got a lot of things to do on this Pig.:lol:

Dangit - I've already flap disc'd those down. There goes my fuel economy! :D

On this topic though I might have found a roof that is local to replace the current one for a decent price. If I don't replace the roof I am going to pull the old one all the way off (read: remove rain gutter) so I can treat the rust. By the time I go through all that it will probably be cheaper to just replace the roof entirely. We will see...
