if you desmog it just go ahead and pull the whole intake manifold. Makes it way easier. Plus it's probably full of crud.

I need to go ahead and do hoses and such. May toss a radiator in it just to be safe. I really don’t like how crowded these engines are compared to a 2F but man. It’s pretty cool.

I love this quirky thing. It's looking awesome! Those double rear wipers are trippy.

Thanks man. I figured this one was worth all the grief I am taking over my usual 80 series trash talk.......

Thanks for the stickers, Nolan! Hope the floor mat hooks worked out for you.

Took the OddBall80 for a road test today. All was going great until I got to the busiest intersection in town and it died.

Some bystander saw my old ass trying to push it out of the road and jumped in to help.

I fussed with it a bit and figured out my power source for the PowerSurge took a dump. I was using the relay from the old fuel pump.

I am going to get a new relay tomorrow and rewire it and try it again.

As for the drive....it runs really good. Once I get the bugs worked out this will be a hard one not to drive a lot.

Got a Tilda Bogue family shot today after dusting off the 45 for a new project

I rewired the ignition and fuel pump setup today. Someone got in there in the past and made a bit of a mess.

I added a new coil ..... this is a standard coil I had bought for a 72 FJ40.....

The chrome one was all jacked up.

Turns out the power wire I tapped into had an in-line fuse under the sheath. The fuse was only 10a and the pump needs a 20a fuse.

My bad. I should have seen that.
Should be good to go now.

This is a nice compete EGR delete kit I found on Facebook 60/62 page today.

I really really like all the work you are doing. I know it is not high on your priority list yet, but when you are ready, I can recommend Spector Off Road FJ80 seat covers. They are very pricey but I splurged and bought two brown seat bottoms with new foam for my preservation project and they look great. I think your driver's side is a stock gray seat. Thankfully it looks like that odd ball passenger side is in good shape.

Love this thing! So I'm curious.. how do the LED bulbs perform with the glass housings? Any pics of the spread?

Honestly I have not driven it at night yet. I’ll advise

First time I’ve used the trailer since I got the lift and tires on. It sits mostly level to the truck now which makes me very happy. I hate a nose down trailer

Yeah. Got one here. High output. Just have to figure out how to get to the damn thing

In the event you haven't already done this, pull the fan. I tried to do one a few months ago without pulling the fan and finally acquiesced to pulling it after spending 20 mins trying to wiggle the alt out the bottom. Comes out the top easily with the fan out of the way...

I‘ve recently seen a few people parting out trucks with interiors matching yours. Only reason I know is because I’m debating on keeping the 80 I have with the same interior. You can probably find matching 3rd row seats with enough material to fix your driver’s seat bottom.

A little off topic, but is it that unusual to have an 80 without a sunroof? I’m new to the 80-series and know pretty much zero about these trucks.

For a US market 80, it’s reasonably rare.

Hooked up the trailer for a run to the dump and it was full of red wasps. I uploaded a whole can inside the channels on the tongue and now they are going for a ride

Such a great ride man.. Any plans to color match the trailer wheels?
