1/2 of the OME suspension arrived this week so my main man Miller Kaderabek and I tossed it on the truck at the end of a long shop day.

861s for the front with some fresh Bilstein shocks

The truck was at 35.25” from ground to the bottom of the fender and now it’s at 37.50” on both sides. Nice and level side to side as well.

I assume it will settle some but “stock” height OME are good for a couple of inches over 29 year old stock springs

My rear springs came in today.....

Also all the parts to put the fuel pump setup into the truck.

Perfect timing. I was under the hood looking for a good switched 12v for the powersurge and the fuel line busted from pressure. It was a ticking time bomb.

I cut that crap out along with the awesome ScotchLock and tomorrow I’ll get this done proper

Putting those fittings into the PowerSurge is a jigsaw puzzle act. There are likely better fittings but this is what I ordered and it is going to work.

I only had a couple hours today on it and got hard line to clear filter to pump and pump to PS plumbed.

Like I said, the clear filters help because my tank has some rust. These cheap filters should help me work through that visually and less expensive than high end filters.

One thing I just realized mating this thing to my 3FE versus the Sniper. Sniper uses 3/8” inputs and the 3FE is 5/16” line.

I spoke to Robbie Mc and he says it should be fine.

Hope so. I’ll have to neck the hoses down after the high pressure filter

You are becoming a wizard in your older years......turn those wrenches

Far from that.

I’m down to the return from the fuel rail to PowerSurge. This has always been 3/8” on my Sniper setups.

The 3FE is a mere 1/4”

I’m wondering if that 1/4” line is a leftover from the old carbureted motor.

This is the hose that comes out the passenger side just in front of the Oil filter.

Anyone know if the entire return on a normal 3FE is just 1/4” line?

Got the return installed and after a few pumps of the cam on that OEM fuel pump the system primed up and it all fired right up. No noise from the pump. No leaks. Pretty stoked.

I then jumped on the rear 862 springs and now the rear is up 2” from where I started. Nice and level side to side as well.

I’m finally going to get to Fluid Film the Oddball80 and take it for a test drive this afternoon.

Stay tuned

#notowstrap

Man. I’m gun shy. In the last 6 weeks I’ve ridden the strap home in Texas Red, OddBall80 and Will’s 100 just yesterday (alternator)

Fluid Film laid ✔️✔️✔️

Its 10.7 million degrees out right now so I kept my test drive short but man. Does this thing ride awesome with the new suspension and the fuel pump is quiet and it runs very good.

Next time I can get some @USMC22 time we will give it a desmog and tune up but for now it’s running and driving superb

Man what a bitchin' 80. I bet that 3FE with a 5 speed is nice also... that auto is a dog on the 62.

Sweet ass ride.

Wills new alt?

Yeah. Got one here. High output. Just have to figure out how to get to the damn thing

So do you just hit the frame with the FF? No body underside?
Any plans to move to wool wax, or staying with FF?

No way I’m switching. Body did not need it. Good solid paint there. No rust or I would. I love this stuff.

Put a 30 mile trip on it and came back under its own power !!

The fuel filters look good. Maybe the stock pump gently pulling fuel out of the tank will keep it clean

I was hoping to get a bit more rubber overdrive with these 33’s versus the old 31’s I drove it home on.

This was when I got it and the speedo was dead on.

This is today with the new tires but the speedo is about 3 mph slow now.

Seems high. I wonder if this thing has 4.30 gears?
