2 gallons of white monstaliner rolled on after I de-flared and cut the hole for my snorkel. I like it a lot better than the factory paint.

Thanks, they are factory 16's off a 2012 Tacoma that I powdercoated matte black. Speciality Finishes in lindon did the powdercoat

Pit, those actually look pretty good. I don't like how they look in silver, but the black is really nice!

Wait until the wheels for 16 model year Tacoma show up...

So spraying it gives a smoother finish? How rough is the texture of Monstaliner rolled?

I got a chip of Durabak and it looked like paint with kitty litter mixed in. Way too coarse. Would you guys say the finished texture matches the sample chips pretty closely?

Can we get some door jamb pics?

Thanks guys, this is a huge help.

I have never sprayed it, but rolling it was pretty smooth to me. Durabak is good stuff, but the product is a lot more textured than monstaliner and when I used it on an m416 trailer tub it was very coarse. In that situation it worked well. Here's a pic of the monstaliner in the garage curing, where you can see the rolled on texture a little better. I didn't coat my door jambs because they were already white and in good shape. Hope this helps

Regarding the white. My truck is white and could use this process. Are you happy with the white and how it cleans up?

About to buy a set of U-Pol Raptor liner, is 4Ltrs enough for the 80? It will be sprayed and not rolled.

Thanks

For sure, I think it looks better than the factory paint. It's way easier to maintain and I live in the mountains where the roads are salted. Pressure washes easy, and looks like new every time. Sorry I don't know much about upol liner or spraying liner

Thanks for the texture pic, Pit Elevated. I think I'm sold on rolling the Monstaliner this summer! I'm leaning towards tintable and getting the pigment in the new TRD Pro "Inferno" shade to color it. That or the Monstaliner Dark Burnt Orange. Waiting on a color chip now.

For those guys who haven't done door jambs, can I get a couple open door shots? I just wanna know if I'll hate the color difference every time I open the door.

My truck is white now, so an orange/red is going to be a big change. I wonder if it'll show along the edges etc. And did you guys do the part of the tailgate you can't see when the hatch is closed? Take the handle off & stuff? Thanks guys

Luke, is that rolled or sprayed?

All right- let me have it. I'm rolling "jeep spice" on the cruiser.

Well, it's done. I used every bit of 2qts. To get a heavy textured finish, I waited till it was good and tacky and rolled over it again with a clean roller. This pulled the liner out, giving it the coarse finish I was after.

For those that have done the entire truck, what prep did you do. I know what they say, but did you take out window seals etc etc? I think I will keep my flares on (still up in the air on this one, i prefer the look of the flares on better) did you remove the rubber seal between the body and flare or just go all over it? Thanks!
