Absolutely amazing man! I'm doing the fender flare and cladding delete as soon as it warms up around here... And doing the white (over OEM white). Great Job mang!!!

Ditto! Except I may throw in some black along the bottom and flares.. still contemplating.

I'd like to do mine in a green close to the factory green. Seems like 'jungle love' is about as close as I can get without custom tint, has anyone just added a little straight black to it to darken it?

Have you ordered the color chips? Jungle Love is nothing like the factory green on the 80s. It's very saturated and 'cartoony' looking. I was hoping it'd be like a dark hunter/forest green but not the case when I saw the actual color in full sunlight.

This is Jungle Love and WWII OD Green against the green factory paint on my '96

And a pic I found on the web

Mines matt black, with matt black grille, which was done when I got it, and I added matt black Method NV wheels which I think works well with the finish of the Slee Offroad bar work and other bits it has.

Thinking I will white liner the white bit next, as some of the white paint isn't perfect, but looking at colors too.

I know the green is way off, I was thinking of mixing a gallon of black with a gallon of jungle love to try and get it close, and was hoping someone else had already tried it.

(Aus, your build thread was great, it looked like you had a really good time at Slee!)

Hard not to have a good time at Slee, the guys are good fun, know their stuff, and theres a great coffee shop just down the road!

It is tinted to toyota 030 white, it would just be grey if I didn't tint it with any color.

Did you try the ML white first for comparioson? How much did the pigment run you? I am thinking about doing mine, but like my white and want to stay in the family just trying to decide if I should use ML white or do a custom tint.

Thanks

Yeah it was only $30 for a pint at a local auto paint supply shop. Toyota 030 is the code for my particular paint(its the 60 series white) and they were able to bring that up on computer and had it ready for me in all of 10 min. Super easy. I forget how much I had to add to each bottle(8 total) but I have about half of the pint still left over.

Gandalf in 045 White

I used Al's in 045 White. I sprayed it with the hopper gun. It took 4 gallons.

If you pull the fender flares, do you have to fill the holes before using the liner?

All the rigs look great guys! Jose, you didn't hold anything back, looks like a show car with so much detail. keep up the killer work guys! Good idea of a thread, except the oddball heep picture :P

lol Thanks guys. Under regular circumstances I know you have to fill holes before painting but I was unsure if the ML had any 'magical' properties that would fill the holes as it covers an area. Since it's thicker than regular paint I figured it might actually be possible :poof:

Not sure when I am doing this but when I do I think I might add this stuff. Just need to decide if I am doing the whole body or not. Since it's white I am not sure I will like the outcome. SOme of the other colors look good though.
