@Chamba time to start re-naming her “ The Paki-Princess”

That name would also being getting Pakistan credit for something they are 180° from deserving of.
Spot-on. She was a JDM rig before going to Pakistan, so I'm hoping to actually bring her back up to the pre-Paki days.

was hoping to at least reuse the tie rod since it came apart easily but that is bent too 🤦‍♂️

More details.. Clutch slave bracket wsa broken and welded back together (usually from engine getting dropped on its side when out of vehicle), I was out of used ones but a few years ago had some billet ones made up so threw one on :)

Also, final details on front axle brake lines. This is total minutiae but for whatever reason 81-84 FJ43's/FJ45;'s have the older style front brake line tab with the circle fueature vs 17mm hex, so we chopped those off and welded our 17mm tabs we make on so we could use a long OEM hose, omitting dust shield and short section brake tubing.

Fortunately we were able to find a nice 2F shroud over the weekend for a good price (they are getting really hard to find in good shape!), got it cleaned and painted.

Final details of radiator support repair, AC hard lines, shroud etc Clamps are OEM Toyota of course.

@cruisermatt not suprised about the tie rod to be honest: no rust, just beaten senseless.... that's the MO of this poor rig. I had something similar on my 47 many moons ago. I sleaved it with a rod which was the same ID as the OD of the tie rod. I welded the ends on a 45° to spread the stress. Is that an option here do you think if we can't find a tie rod?

As as shameless plug: this stuff Matt makes us really impressive. Very nice craftsmanship.

On another note: the driver's side window frame is all ready for glass. Painted, weather stripping glued on. I'll get that in in 30 minutes once it's home. Very excited to have found that.

We have stock-replacement tie rods in stock (both OEM and Joint Fuji AFT) so no problem there in terms of project hold-up, but BudBilt makes a nice HD replacement if you want to match the HD drag link we make for the steering conversion.

I’ve been out this whole week with a really bad flu/strep throat but I heard this 43 got put back together and saw some sun for the first time in while this week!
Apparently it is running absolutely perfect.

Justin also got all the holes in the tunnel cover filled in, bedlined to match the floor, and installed. I designed and lasered an adapter ring to bolt up a HZJ75 H55f shift boot, pics of that when it gets installed.

Next up, suspension, rear axle/brakes/locker, and finishing the AC! And then I think we’l be done?!

What stood out immediately to me was the fuel line snaking its way across the manifold…then I saw the next photo…sweet!

Start looking for a 79-84 USA intake cone.

And ugh, that's the worst 10sq feet of my shop in that picture, I hate that picture
🤦‍♂️

I'm looking. No hurry though: there's no tab to mount it on that cowl I don't think.

Your shop looks great: that 10 square ft would be the nicest section in many shops.....
But how's that?
