Thanks for the compliment. I wish I had it to the point where I could enjoy it.

I would suggest leaving the body on the frame and bracing for the quarter panels. We put the top on & off several times including the rear doors to make sure everything stayed lined up. Worst thing that could happen would be for the amby doors to overlap a 1/2 inch or have a 1/2 inch gap between them. :)

Maybe some color on the bottom of the tub as soon as tomorrow!!!

Thanks @KY Longhunter. I've used your build as a reference many times. Beautiful truck, I love the color with the black rims.

One question - Looks like you used the Daystar body mount kit. Did you have to modify anything? Check out this thread for the problems some of us are having. Please let me know what you did to get this to work properly.

Wow. I must say I have not seen the Daystar thread but did have some issues. I will have to read through it tonight when I'm not working.

Ready to spray...supposed to have color on the bottom tomorrow! :bounce:

Hood questions - I assume the metal pieces - underneath side of the hood are to attach an insulation piece. Right? Talking about the metal bracket looking pieces right side of the pic. Should they be separated from the hood like that?
Second - I would assume the center section should be flush with the hood. Right? Hard to see with this straight on pic, but there is a 3/8 inch gap in there?

Thanks KY. Not sure which years had hood liner. Here's a pic I found with it installed. Found in another Mud thread. Guess I'll leave them as is on my hood in case I come across a suitable liner.

Here are a few more with my camera. Lighting was a little odd this morning to me. All of the threaded holes were plugged with silicone plugs I got off ebay. 2-3 days to fully dry & cure, then we can start blocking the outside for the final time.

Looks amazing! Excellent work, hope mine turns out a fraction this nice!

What bedliner are you using? Is it tintable Monstaliner? Skimmed through the last few posts and didn't see the brand mentioned. Sorry if you've already posted it and I didn't catch it.

Not sure on brand, but I can find out. It is definitely tintable. I think they told me they leave out the 4 oz of black, & use 12 oz of true red to tint each gallon. We used 2 gallons on bottom & 2 more on inside! After they spray the bedliner we wait about 20 minutes for it to start getting tacky and spray a coat of T309 Freeborn Red over it to ensure that it matches the painted exterior.

Nice! Thanks for the info.

amazing read. And to think you did all of this in the time that I have braced my truck, cut out quarter panels, and preped to take the body of the frame... wow.... truly inspirational... great body work man!
