Did you mention your tire size somewhere? I went through every page. Did I miss it?

Perfecto!

Drove it about 60 miles Saturday & I think it's safe to say the carb issues are resolved.
When I got home the rear diff was leaking around the cover. Dang it! It never ends.....

Fixed the rear diff cover leak. Then put the bikini top on. Not real sure where the rear straps are supposed to attach, but I am sure that I don't want to drill any holes for the footman loops that came with it.

When I was running a bikini top many years ago I put in footman loops on the tub rail ... The PO in me said it was ok to do :meh:

Less damaging .... you can get some D ring anchors ... Maybe about 1.5" ... You could bolt them to the hardtop capture nuts on the tub rail

See pic for the type of thing I'm talking about

Another idea for footman loops- Put them in the factory soft top hoop bolt holes in the inside bend of the top rail. Not my idea but worked out pretty slick.

Back to the carb again. something just isn't right again. It will crank, but takes a while pumping the gas pedal. Same thing hot or cold. I'm about ready to punt on this @Trollhole carb & pony up for an Aisan from @Racer65

Once I get it started, it actually runs decent for the most part. Seems underpowered to me. I'm not expecting to drag race it, but it just doesn't feel right. I'll try the paperclip test on the secondary this weekend to make sure that's opening like it should.

I still don't see a fuel line in the sight glass, but never have since this carb has been on there...

Sorry for the rambling, appreciate any helpful input.

When I had those exact issues my fuel system picked up a leaf from the tank and it got caught in the inlet screen of the carb. If you want new then more power to you but I bet a good clean/rebuild would do the trick. The no fuel at the sight glass says restricted flow to me... so fuel inlet screen, fuel filters, weak fuel pump, or sucking air into the system? I'm no expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night :hillbilly:

I agree. I think that carb has been pulled & cleaned four times. Inlet screen was a problem at least one of those 4 times. Guess it wouldn't hurt to clean it again. Fuel pump is new from Toyota. I would think that it is OK. It's mechanical obviously, so it's either pumping or it's not.

I'll pull it again this weekend. I saw another thread where someone mentioned bending the float a little since there is no other float adjustment.

Installed the tailgate today. Welded together a set of barn doors. I like the tag here, where it is supposed to be.

^^ thank you.

Also test fit the rear molding today. planning to set the top on one last time before I send it to paint. I assume this is way to long to accommodate the longer wheelbase trucks or even a troopy?

Took the front doors, rear doors, side panels & the pieces over the doors to the painter today.

Then took it pumpkin shopping.
