You already are set up for GM, just put a $300 5.3 in it with the stock PCM, you could do the whole thing for the cost of a Sniper or less

I agree with everything but the $300 part. Snipering an SBC makes no sense. You need the same fuel system upgrades to Sniper as if you were putting in a 5.3, so if you can find a complete 5.3 with all front accessories and paired computer, you just need to buy a standalone harness. If i could find $300 5.3’s id have one in every cruiser!

They’re $300 after you scrap/sell the $1k donor truck !

He already has a high pressure fuel system, and yes a aftermarket standalone harness makes it easier but it’s not hard to trim down the original harness. Lt1swaps.com will flash the PCM for $75.
$30 plates from Amazon could bolt it into his existing mounts.
If not on a super tight budget yes a $700 swap harness is nice

OK after i slept on it i called Holley first thing today and they were very helpful . So the new sniper does not plug into the old hyperspark ignition . Well it does but you need a diffrent harness ( they are sending me one for free ) The throttle cable braket is different and mine could maybe work but it would not be right so i ordered one. Will have tomorrow ( the sniper 2 is narrower than the 1 ) Since i have a returnless system ( they have not even sold a Returnless sniper 2 yet ). i need to just cap a line Easy . I think once i get it set up it will be really good , and much better than the 1 . i also ordered the 5 inch screen that also has gps speedometer . the Tech was telling me if i wanted to keep it looking vintage he had seen once that a guy took his mechanical fuel pump and hallowed it out . I said Holley should just make a Dummy pump but put the pressure Regulator in it . And That idea is going to the next Meeting . So if you see this in the future you know were it came from . In fact i should make one and sell them to the hot rod guys . I am not going for the retro oe look on mine

Whats Next ? well. i noticed i have a trans leak from somewhere ? i have not found where yet. so that needs to get fixed . Then i am putting the hard top on so everything for that. and finish my doors . I think i am going to tie my seats into the cage MT has the kit . And bump stops i honestly can not feel the rear when its rubbing but can see where it is . I am going to make a New bumper also. without the grill gaurd i just think it would look cleaner .

No grill guard and just bumper would be way cleaner imo.

How much do you have into the sniper ? just curious. I agree on the snout bumper, had it a long time, tired of it, curious to see what you come up with out front.

if you delete the grill hoop you could fashion some sort of radiator protection off the C/O cross brace

I think i have 3600 into all the sniper stuff . The sniper 2 did not cost me anything since they sent me a new Sniper unit i just exchanged it for the new sniper 2 . Yes. i will do a drivetrain swap. but i want to collect all the parts first And No it is not going to be 300 bucks to do it . I think i am going to tie the cage into the coilover crossover. . Oe has those 2 rods that go from firewall to Rad. so kinda like that just better Maybe make a sort of hoop that replaces the oe horseshoe rad mount

My throttle cable brackets came today really cleaned things up. Just need to hook up some wires and I should be doing burn outs in the neighbors grass soon

Houston we have HP . I got her fired up today and it runs soooo much better . Took a little bit to get it dialed in but she is mean now . Now let’s see if it can stay this way . But it’s night and day different .

Been following your thread, and the nightmare youve been dealing with. Glad to see that it seems to finally be right. I dont think youre the only one with issues with it. I have noticed a lot of Snipers coming up on Marketplace in the last month or so.....
