FOR SALE :bang: ok. put new alt on. ran new 6 gauge wire from Alt to battery and ground from Alt to frame. And Nothing Same. This makes absolutely no sense

run a ground wire or your jumper cable from alt directly to battery ground
youve got to have high resistance somewhere.

Had to really tighten the belt

So lets re cap :D Old Sniper was a disaster :bang:. Was able to upgrade to new Sniper 2 . New Sniper 2 does not Plug into old sniper harness  Holley is sending me a new Harness that the engineer dept was making ;). Me not wanting to wait decided if someone else can do it i certainly can so i looked at pictures and took my old harness apart :hmm:. Made new Harness out of old one . Took my fuel pump out and put new pressure Regulator in . Added gauge to see actual . Made new SS AN-6 fuel lines . Fired up and running good , But not charging :hmm:. Checked ,rechecked and checked again . Took New old alt out and took back and exchanged for new alt . Same nothing . Took back apart check all grounds where clean . Took back apart and took back to store to make sure the Alt was indeed good Alt was good .:bang:. Reinstalled and added new Alt to Batt wire 6 gauge added 6 gauge ground wire to Alt . and Nothing Cranked tension on belt down and got a little 12.6. :nailbiting:. well cranked it down Alot more and Boom 13.1. Why stop now got it to 13.8. . Now this made no sense at all . 🤔. My belt looked like it was really deep in the pulley . Went to store and bought new belt . Installed normal tension and everything is good 🙄. Old belt that has at most 200 miles on it looks cupped so maybe it was slipping enough to wear funny or it was just a bad belt I have no idea . The plus is it is running . Now i just need to put everything back and clean things up . I am kinda waiting on the new harness ( i am certain it will look exactly like what i have except 1 wire will be red instead of pink . ) I also found the leak on myTrans its coming from the shifter shaft . You tube makes it look fairly simple to fix . I really would like to get past all this crap so i can work on NEW things . But i think we are getting traction again . 🤞

:steer:. ok First test drive :flush:. But i believe we have it narrowed down to the fuel pump . Runs great but when you get on it it goes lean and stumbles . I had installed a fuel pressure gauge and can see it drop when i get into the throttle hard . Not enough Fuel making it lean out . She needs More fuel . as Frustrating as this is i will say the Holley techs have been very helpful and are sending me a new pump and filters . I also noticed my pump had a different sound to it . I cycled it so the tech could hear . He agrees its a bad bump or i guess there is a plastic line that can get a crack in it ? If i am easy on the gas it runs fine . I can move it around for now so i am good . On a positive Alt is good :D.

awesome job sticking with it! Is the fuel pump inline?
No I have a In tank Returnless Pump. In Hindsight this very well could have been 1 of the issues with the sniper 1 . If this was not ment to be a crawler i would 100 percent just run a carb . But i am confident that i have narrowed this down and have found the issue now .

Ok 🧐 today I spent some time testing and checking things. I went a bought another new fuel filter just to be sure 🤔. Still runs great but loosing pressure under throttle 🤬. I mean it can only be so many things 🤨. So I took the fuel pump out and took it apart Everything looked good. I took the fuel mat filter thing off and put my finger over it and it was sucking 🤔. Then put it in a glass full of water and put my finger over the outlet and it definitely has pressure would blow my finger off 😃. Ok so what is the 1 thing not here 🤔. The fuel mat filter . I put the pump back in the tank just to see how it would run without that mat and boom problem solved. I can mat the throttle and the pressure stays good. The sniper does not go lean at all now 😳. I tried blowing through the hole on the mat and can hardly blow through it 🤦🏻‍♂️. For what ever reason it just could not suck enough fuel fast enough through that . Also my pump is really quite now . Holley sent me new filters and stuff and will have them this week . I will call first thing in the am and make sure I have that fuel mat thing . In fact I want 2 . I chased this back to the very beginning of this system and wouldn’t you know it 🤦🏻‍♂️. The throttle response now is amazing 😃🎉

One other thing i am going to change is where my fuel filter is . Right now it is between my tank and the floor where the fuel line goes through . With the center consul i cant get to it without taking ev everything apart and that is a pain . So i am going to mount the filter in my under seat tool box .

I've never seen a "strainer" that looks like that. Usually look more like fine mesh. That looks like more like an absorbent pad.
its is supposedly it sucks fuel in it ? well for some reason its not . with it off it runs like a rapped ape

IMO lose the in tank, get a e2000 or a bosch and put on rail with filter, more easier to service, dont put that filter in the tool box, put it underneath where it belongs.
Although I suppose you have access to and are familiar with the intank pump so meh ? There is a metal strainer instead of that plastic/fabric whatever it is, they all fill up and cause flow issues in my exp. Also, keep it off the floor of the tank
