touch up painted all the little chips everywhere. did the iron treatment. Clay bar next.

Took this before clay bar. Not that it helped. Have a weird dotting on some of the less vertical surfaces under the windows. Looks like maybe grease. But it has been washed and scrubbed with soap 2x. Didn’t come off with clay bar.

Finished the first coat of ceramic polish (using griots 3n1).
Used car pros Eraser to get a perfect surface. That product works well. Really does clean and doesn’t attract dust after.
The polish is fine. Mild easy to apply etc. won’t last forever, but should be friendly for reapplication. Will put on 2nd coat tomorrow.

Yours looks like mine. Just need to find the time to work on it.

Yeah, I make sure to wash and wax at least once every 24 months. Run the duradirt (TM) coating in between.

i'm hoping that I can up my frequency to 4x a year for wash and polish, that'll keep it both not continuing to degenerate the paint and looking less scruffy. It's a high hope though. Always something better to do that clean a car.

A more representative Sun photo. Plenty of pinstripes remain.

Probably won’t be any help, but doing a little pre removal bumper cover marking.

Rival 4x4 tlc first gen coming tomorrow. It’s steel winch cradle aluminum shell. To my knowledge it hasn’t been fit to an lx yet.
Did you get a new steel front bumper??

Gussied up the headlights with Cerakote ceramic headlight cleaner. This is a two step plus clear product.
I had previously used a similar Sylvania product, maybe two years ago. The headlights were quite cloudy, but not yellowed/oxidized.
The cerakote has a sanding pad, which I think makes the wet sand more consistent and easier.
The other win was that the clear wipes were very easy to use, compared to the sylvania which had manual dosing, and led to some striping of clear on the light (not foolproof).

Full process took around half an hour. I’ll put up a next day photo, but it looks pretty good to me right now.

There is some graining from the sanding, I guess I should have gone harder on the 3000 grit.

Also, they give two clear wipes, maybe doing a coat on both headlights with one wipe, waiting an hour and coming back for a second coat would be longer lasting. I think plenty of clear on the wipe to do both lights.

Finished iteration 1 on the bumper. Still have some wiring to complete on the winch, and brackets for the controller.

Looks good from the front at 10 feet. Will need some recutting and pinch weld to look good at 3 feet.

I think you installed your bumper upside down 🙃

A bit of rubber trim on the plastic and I think it'll look really professional
