Gonna have to wait for the golden lined gas tank to be finished before I put all this in.

Check Craigslist Nashville under landcruiser Hugh . There is an aux gas tank for $100 . Little late now though.

Thanks. I paid $150 I think but I bet that one in Nashvegas would cost just as much to have boiled and lined. It's only money :meh:

why again didnt you just buy a brand new stock one??
It is the big Confer rear tank that is getting repaired. They are a thousand bones. I will be in it by half when it is done. :meh:

so will you have 2 tanks? one under the seat and this one?

That's the plan. Putting in a switching valve that will also switch the sending units feed to the gauge. Following some other mudders experience with that. If it works right, it should be pretty trick. Be nice to carry about 40 gallons of fuel, until I have to stop at a pump

I modified a stock sending unit that Yooper had to be able to properly fit the depth of the Confer tank so I will have the two same odd ohm sending units to match the adjustable gauge. Then I will stick a toggle or rocker switch on the dash to swap the tanks. I know others have done stuff like feed the aux fuel into the main tank with an electric fuel pump but that seems hokie to me.

A couple more boxes showed up at the house yesterday. I could not resist installing the emblems on the aprons this morning. I do like the early emblems better, but this is what fits. Still, a thing of beauty.

Sent from my thing with Woody's junk.

Are you using the wide runner intake I saw early in the thread? Nice work, I am enjoying your build.

Yeah. You have a comment about that? I would be interested to hear it. I did some Mud research about the advantage of the narrow v wide on here and based on what I want to do with the truck, I concluded that this intake would give me the performance I desire. I do not have any first hand experience of the narrow v the wide so it will be interesting to see what this truck does over the Red Menace which is running a desmogged 2F on 35s with a 4 speed and s***ty weber.

I had one and mocked it up with my header with minimal grinding, but at the time I really wanted the 2F aircleaner so I went with the standard 2F intake. Poser wanted the wide runner, so that's where it lives now.;)

Just a quick update from the bar...
I finally got the hard brake and clutch lines satisfactory and started clamping them in place. What a pita. Also, the wife gave me the go ahead to buy the gauges. Not cheap but should be worth it and spring us forward to wiring. The other thing I worked on was hand painting the emblems some more. So far so good on that....supposedly I am getting a few small bits from a wreck in Nashville coming my way tonight. :bounce:

Thanks Alex79!
Got an 80 series steering wheel for this beast. I think it is going to be a great addition. I also have a friend whose son works at a certain high end German car manufacturer who can get free leather that is not up to their high standard. Black leather seats will be quite nice.

Oh, and I just ordered a gauge package from Speedhut - I can't believe it but waiting paid off, they were on sale! 10% off.
