My prediction: I have no idea how this game is gonna play out. I guess if I am going to prognosticate I will say Wake will be more prepared cause Grobe will have them that way. I would say Clemson wants it more cause the seniors really want to get to the title game. I would say Clemson also needs it more particularly Bowden but in general the team needs to show they arent the joke everyone thinks they are right now. As usual Clemson has more talent anywhere on the field except LB and maybe OL although our OL does seem to be coming around. I see three ways it could go Clemson blows Wake out, Clemson wins a tight one, or Wake wins a tight one. I'm guessing Clemson in a tight one but none of the options would surprise me. If Wake blew Clemson out that wouldn't entirely surprise me either I just don't think its very likely.

I think it's going to be a blow out...either wake is gonna blow out clemson or clemson is gonna blow out wake...either way I'm not too sure how it's gonna go

My prediction is Clemson will break the hearts of Clemson fans everywhere... and win, making the wait for execution of Tammy that much more suspenseful. It's played out that way for too long. Pulling for Wake though. Better for both sides.

I hope they fire his worthless @ss soon. This is painful to watch.

The Tigers have to win this game, which means they'll probably do just that. We're getting a few players back from injuries, so that'll help. The biggest question mark in my mind is how the kids are handling all of the criticism. I have absolutely no confidence in TB to get this team in the right state of mind for this game. Listening to parts of his press conference on Monday, he sounded like it was business as usual.

I predict Clemson 21 Wake 17. We'd better win this game or Death Valley will be EMPTY against GT, with a losing streak, failure of a season, and a noon kickoff

Well Richard, let's hope the world doesn't stop rotating but I actually agree with most of everything you say here.

Clemson has a more talented roster and Wake should play a more disciplined game.

As a whole, our D is typically an effective unit but our O-line may be performing worse than yours this year. Our usually effective ground game is virtually non-existent and that falls squarely on the O-line. Some injuries, youth and an academic issue have all contributed to a disappointing start to the season up front. Supposedly they had great practices with the bye week but I'll believe it when I see it, hopefully in person tomorrow night.

I really don't have a good feel for the final score since there are so many other factors at play here. I'd guess it will be a close game and the team that makes the least costly mistakes, limits turnovers and has the momentum near the end gets the W. The weather could come into play too as it looks to be wet.

I've been confident for our games the last few years but even with our ACC title, Orange Bowl run in 06 and a solid follow up season last year, beating you guys is a hurdle we haven't been able to clear recently. I don't know if that changes this year but we certainly have a chance.

If both teams play hard, the game is called fairly and there are no major injuries, I'll be happy. Of course, I'll be happier if Wake gets the W but there are 7 more game after this so perspective is always a good thing.

All of that said, Go DEACS!!

It won't be empty I'll be there. Course if it were empty I could sit on the 50 yd line and Tommy could hear me heckling him real clearly.

Oh yeah, another reason it is too bad you are not going to make the game Richard. You could do your part to help out the less fortunate and work on your greater cause at the same time: :grinpimp:

In these tough economic times, we need to think about those less fortunate than us. Many families are having a hard time making ends meet and putting food on the table. Because of this, at our tailgate this week, we will be hosting the Get Tommy Bowden Canned Food Drive for the Wake Forest v. Clemson football game. (Our tailgate is located in the Gold Lot. If you are facing Bridger Field House, we are set up to the left of Bridger along the treeline close to the Port-a-potties. We will have a Get Tommy Bowden Canned Food Drive Poster.)

Please empty your shelves or stop by the store and bring as many canned goods as possible to the tailgate. We will be donating all of the canned goods received to a local food bank. All you have to do is bring your canned goods to the game, and we will take care of donating the canned goods to charity.

Andy is Sam Swank playing? I read somewhere that he was hurt and questionable for the game.

Dont't worry the world is gonan stop turning, I think we actually agree pretty often on the games we are impartial to its just the ones we are vested in that we usually totally disagree on.

The weather thing is tricky normally that favors the less athletic team because wet conditions slow you down which would be Wake. But it also favors the team that runs the ball better and I think thats Clemson even though we aren't performing on the ground as well as we should be. So that could be interesting.

One thing I will say for the Tigers is they seem to be having a less penalties this yr then I recall in yrs past so that is good.

Swank hurt his leg in practice on Monday and didn't practice at all yesterday. He is a game time decision right now.

Obviously if he doesn't play, we just lost a huge weapon. He is probably half of our offensive output so far, won the Ole Miss game and provided the only points in the FSU game.

We have a redshirt freshman that is supposed to be very good but letting him get his first real PT in a big time, nationally televised Thursday night game doesn't thrill me - especially against a quick, athletic D like yours.

And like you say, the wet weather probably helps us (we usually play well in the rain) but the thought of a green kicker punting and attempting pressure packed PATs and FGs in the rain is less than ideal.

If anything, maybe our play calling gets a bit more aggressive and we manage to man up and open some holes for our ground attack. Not being able to rely on Mr. Clutch for points may force us to change the way we approach offensive but that is definitely a glass half full perspective...

Save the Maryland game, where they killed at least 2 decent drives.

I'm not looking forward to a wet game, as we'll probably run the ball well in the first half and decide we need to "even out the plays" so we can throw the game in the second half. Harper throwing in the rain scares me.

Well Andy I told you on the phone it would be a close one and if Swank played you'd win and if he didn't you'd lose and that almost was the case. If he had played you'd have kicked about 3-4 more field goals that you didn't even attempt with the other guy.

On the bright side gas is $2.99/gal here now. :flipoff2:

WHile it was a good game the last 10 min it pretty much sucked the rest of the game. Both QB's sucked. I was amazed at how many times ther threw the ball away or just threw it up for grabs. When Clemson first came out they looked like they had already played 4 quarters. Wake looked to be the better team. They could actually run the ball. The QB did a good job of that.

So the big question is when will they fire Tommy? I'm betting the end of this season. I watched him most of the game and he never had a bit of emotion. I bet he was thinking the whole time. "Hmmm, I hope they fire me now than later, I really want to start building my new house down in Florida."

He has a win, win situation. Either he stay and get millions every year for the next 6 years being a sub par coach with a bunch of pissed off fans or he gets paid 4 million and is sent home.

It was a fun, but stressful game to attend. Just glad to come out with the W and now try to get ready for a tough game in College Park.

Good times were had by all, lots of laughs and some real entertainment provided by some of the more esteemed members of UC. Hilarious stuff, I just wish I had video copies. :grinpimp:

I don't know about that Marshall, these pics sure show emotion and I doubt he's thinking about anything related to sun and fun...

Yeah, it would have been nice to have Swank but he's gone next year anyway so for Popham to start getting snaps and game minutes now can only be a good thing. Plus, we'll likely need Swank down the stretch so having him 100% healthy is better than the alternative.

I guess the big question now (other than the price of gas) is how much of a possibility is it that you guys go from pre-season National Title talks (within your own circles of course :flipoff2:) to not making a bowl at all??? A couple more losses and that becomes a reality. Should add some extra fun to the season ending game against the Yardbirds and OBC...

Yeah, I wonder how JP is feeling today. That's what happens when you get drunk and beat on me half the game. Expect to get thrown down the stands at least a couple times and have people point and laugh at you.:D Good times. All I heard the second half was "Marshall why did you throw me down the stairs twice? I'm bleeding. Why? Why, Marshall?"
lol

Damn sounds like I missed out on some funny stuff, JP told me you threw him down the stairs it was hard to understand him though his speech was pretty slurred from his high level of intoxication.
