Well that was a s***ty weekend of college football for all concerned I dont guess anyone on here really has anything to talk about except losing. Even a 13 pt win isn't much to talk about when you look at who the loser was.

UNC won.

Bama should beat LSU. I think they'll run the table until the SEC Championship.

UGA / Bama rematch in Atlanta is very possible. Bama is for real but UGA isn't done. 2nd half was a very different game from the first half. Don't know why we start so slow... done it many times.

I need the off week.

A rematch would be huge-it's extremely difficult to beat the same team twice in a season-Auburn is the last to do it that I can think of-they beat Tennessee twice a few years back.

I don't think Bama walks by LSU though-night game at Baton Rouge, it will be closer than the GA game.

The basketball thread will get going again in like 6 weeks no need to preview it. Oh wait were you talking about football? :flipoff2:

I know it sounds crazy saying UNC is winning games. To bad I cannot say the same for your team.

So how much is it to buy out Bowdens contract?:D Any way you look at it he wins. He will either get 4 million and get the boot or he will get 2-3 million to stay. At this point I would think he would rather get the boot.

I believe the buyout is 4 million at this point. Contract is about 2.3 million. They should just fire him right now. Give someone else on the staff a chance and if they dont cut it fire them all come Jan. There are a couple good young coaches in there though who are probably being restricted by stupidity.

So UNC beats (lucks) a game from Miami and it's time to hear the Caro-whina faithful start to chirp... :flipoff2:

Way I see it we have the same record as WF. You have been saying all year how you were gonna dominate.

How does it feel to be tied with Duke and UNC in wins and losses. You feel pretty good?

I don't think we lucked out with Miami. We played a really good game against them. And considering our backup QB actually looked good. Gives us a good chance at still being a contender.

This month will be the decider. If we beat UCon this weekend I think we could win the rest of the games this month. If we lose a couple games we still look better than we did last season. If we come out of this season only loosing 2 or 3 games I will bet you by the time next season starts they will have already started adding an addition 15k-20k seats to the stadium.

WF has got a tough month also. Actually tougher. I'm betting Clemson is not going to roll over on this next game. I actually think they might win. If they don't it will be over for Bowden. If you lose it gonna hurt bad.

Time will tell.

By the way I sold my Uconn tickets this past weekend. Someone paid 250 for them. 3 years ago that would have been unheard of as far as price. I would have been lucky to get half of the value.

Next Thursday's game is do or die for Tommy, which means he'll do. It's how he's still here after 9 years. My guess is we'll lose maybe 1 more game, be "1 play away from the ACCCG" and the administration will have a tough call on it's hands. If he wins the ACCCG, he'll be ACCCotY (might be a tough call though, depending on how Duke and UNC end up) and probably get to hire his successor in waiting (I'm half joking, wouldn't put it past him/the athletic department)

I've never been a Tommy hater, but even I want to get on the "Fire Bowden" bandwagon. I can't watch the games that we've played and not think that nothing has changed in the last 5 years, and I don't see any change. How do we have a bad O-line in 2004, and again in 2008? Poor recruiting is how. Hey, at least OP is doing good things with the basketball team! :D

I hope we win cause I don't want to hear Andy, but I hope they fire him more.

Since this is the football thread and we all know gambling goes great with football has anyone seen this site centsports.com? Its kinda like gambling facebook they give you 10 cents and you make bets with it and once you hit $1 they start sending you checks. You get people to join and if they do then you also get 5% of whatever they win too. Yes its really slow at work right now. :flipoff2: Heres a link. IH8MUD Banner Advertising

You only got that for them cause Uconn is ranked and the other Tarhole fans think you'll be able to pull another one out and say you beat a ranked team.

Nah right now there is no problem selling them on ebay for more than they are worth. Every game has been a sellout. Plus having a close parking pass and them being on the lower deck on the 50yrd line makes a big difference.:D

Easy there Butchie bandwagon, talking smack to the Pickens Kittens duo is one thing. Where did I predict domination all year???? I can guarantee it didn't happen, I am superstitious like that...

How does it feel?? Just fine, thanks. Most ACC teams have 1 loss at this point, at least that's the case for the upper echelon. :grinpimp:

Good to know the other NC teams are getting their act together so we might have some competition. I don't think we've lost to a NC school for 4 years now so yep, I feel pretty good, thanks again for asking.

You predicted a loss since your starter was injured. You have to admit that game ending pick could have gone either way. Of course I didn't see it live, I was tailgating in W-S and preparing for the beat down that was about to ensue... :grinpimp:

Get by the Huskies first and come back to talk smack. They lost their starting QB too so maybe you can have a fan mixer and all cry on each other's shoulders. :grinpimp:

ND could be tough, BC will be tough and UVA, who knows by that point. Lots of stuff can happen between now and then. Don't get ahead of yourself. One W at a time...

Yes, if we play like we did against Navy, Clemson will win by 10,283,084 points. No question about it. At UMD and at UM will be a tough finish for the month for us, no doubt.

The $64K question is, are you going to hook me up and bring your DISH for football viewing during Sat night's camp????? ;)

Tommy Bowden, Clemson – After starting the season with a team loaded with talent Tommy Bowden must now face the reality that his football team is not only not playing up to its potential, but he also might have a football team that will quit when faced with a set of tough circumstances. If Tommy Bowden has a football team that will quit on him, then Tommy Bowden’s job is now on the line with a trip to Wake Forest, Georgia Tech a home, a trip to Boston College, and at trip to Florida State on the slate for the next 4 weeks. Clemson could very easily lose all 4 of those games, and if they did lose those 4 games, Tommy Bowden’s coaching career at Clemson would be over, because that would mean a 6-6 record would be the best that the Tigers could do in ’08. 6-6 with the talent on this Clemson football team would be a travesty. Anything less than 8 wins with the talent on this Clemson football team would be a travesty, and that is why Tommy Bowden and his coaches better figure out in hurry how to get this team motivated or everyone on this Clemson staff will be looking for a new job come December. One thing we have noticed is that when games get tight, Clemson tightens up, and that is just no way to win football games. There are a lot of ways to motivate people to do things, using both punitive and positive type approaches, but in the end what it really gets down to is that the players have to think that the coaches both give a damn about them and that their coaches are competent in their jobs. Paul Bryant was incredibly tough on his players, but those players knew deep down that he gave a damn about them, and there was no doubt in their minds that he was competent in his job. Right now, from our perspective, the Clemson players are questioning whether their coaches give a damn about them and they are starting to question their competency. That is a sure fire recipe for a coaching change.

Well that's a silly question. :p It wouldn't be a Fall Cullowhee ride without football. I think we have done it for the past 3 years now. I'm just hoping we don't have a repeat of last years weather. Trying to watch a game in 30mph wind was interesting. Maybe this year we can figure a way to block the wind with some vehicles. Do a good old fashioned wagon circle.

That might be the only article about Tommy and Clemson I haven't seen yet Andy, although I haven't been to Tigernet today. I wrote President Barker and Terry Don a few days ago and got responses from both now. I mentioned how I'd stop sending my money if they administration didn't show me they give a damn about winning. Check out these interesting lines from the email from Barker.

"I take all such feedback seriously. It is not often possible for me to respond immediately with specifics."

 Specifics about what?
