Hey, here is some pictures of my coleman, its been sandblasted and powder coated. It has $40 worth of powder coating into it, and about 4 hrs of labour.

My neighbour gave it to me for free, when I showed him after the work was done he couldn't believe me it was the same stove. It had surface rust everywhere but was in good shape. The burners got silver BBQ paint and is flaking a bit.

Kevin (awlteq on mud) put creases on the lid so it will hold its shape better, and I lost the swing-out-arms so I built new ones out of stainless.

Cool pics!

Gotta love the reliability of simplicity...

I've been on the lookout for the older metal cooler. Love the looks, not sure how well they cool though.

I have a late 20's Kampkook stove that was given to me as a present. My brother in-law was looking for a earlier model Coleman and found this 2 for 1 deal (1 Coleman & Kampkook)
I'll have to start hitting some yard sales, seems like there's some deals to be had.

Just got back from camping, its amazing how much better bacon tastes when cooked on a coleman in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for the compliments fella's.

so true.....:bounce::bounce:

Well done Cody. I've toyed with doing something similar with one of my Colemans. With even $40 worth of powder-coat on a $5 thrift store stove... its still that much cheaper than a new inferior (imo) stove. Sadly I rarely use any of my Coleman's in favor of my antique Kamp Kitchn stove. We do have the Relic Run coming up soon, I may have to bring a Coleman up to double up on the bigger meals :D

Well Kurt, you will have to post some action shots when you take it out. Although it would be neat to see some more restored camp stoves posted here.

Maybe my pics will be taken as a challenge to the other crusty rusty camp stove fans on here!

i would so like to go on that relic run, i have some much cool old school camping things i buy at yard / estate sales.

We would love to have you. Put it on your calendar for 2012

Both appear to be model 425E's. The nicer shape one on the left was in the box, which was purchased from Kmart ($17.97 was the price tag)...date on the shipping tag is Jan 1977. Had to oil the pump in the right one, but both stoves fired right up.

Love this old stuff. Now on the lookout for an old lantern!

nice stoves, both will serve you well, home camp or field. Just use Coleman Fuel only in them.

Nice score. I've been looking for a 425 for a while. No to big of a hurry though.
Love that size.
