Picked up this 502 as a new camp stove from Offerup. Had to brave DTLA but worth it, has the box but no handle. Decals are a bit messed up but it works excellent. Date stamp is 9/76.

This makes me so happy - it will live in the aluminum case as long as I have it!

I also picked up this sleeping bag as my main summer bag. It has this awesome ram print on the inside! Interwebs say it dates to 1972 sometime. I have plans for the 40 and 60....:)

Nice, picked up my first 502 earlier this year, which included the cooking tins/box, but no handle either. Would like find the handle.
Love the hand written note that stays with the stove!. My instructions decal is messed up too, I think the decal is available on the vintage Coleman parts website.

Agree. I want to get a few trips under me before redoing. The generator is “new” as it was replaced at some point, the prior owner kept the card from the blister pack in the case (these are NLA from Coleman as far as I know), but the vintage parts site sells a repop for that and the handle, as well as the decals.

There is some wabi-sabi in keeping it as-is, though. :)

Got Tired of listening to the Rattles at 5AM as I head North.
Takes less than 5 minutes to add the Foam.

Here is a Cheap Hack ($6.50) to Get the Coleman Oven to cook more evenly.

If you have used the oven you know it is Notorious to Burn stuff on the bottom before the Top is Cooked - defeating the Purpose of Oven.

Adding 2 Refractory Bricks Forces the Heat to Go Around the Center.

Perfect Baked Goods - but the Cook time did Increase.

*The Coleman gauge is Trash but that will be another Post.

It’s fall. Time for some green chile soup. Cooking it outside because we have some pepper sensitivities inside the house.

Lost your mind. It aint fall! It is 95 degrees still in the middle south. Soup is atleast a month away.
Fall is 4 to6 weeks away atleast. Still 90 to 95 here during the day.

Ok yeah technically fall starts 1 week from tomorrow. But Colorado doesn’t know what it wants. It’s snowed in the mountains already, while it was 94 down here yesterday. But if the green chile stands are open you know it’s just about fall time.

Snow in the mountains here last night, too. Can't wait for winter, as long as we get more winter than last year.
