Guess what? TAG is evolving and I'm working on a new and improved, from-scratch website! Have you been eyeing some products from @LJE or The Artisan Garage, but needed a little motivation to click the order button? The first 10 buyers to reach out to me will get a $5 off coupon for your help in testing live sales on the new platform. Reach me here, at admin@theartisangarage.com, or to @LJE for the details.

Alex @LJE is expanding and taking over the steel production for LJE-designed parts! That's right, he's got a fancy new LASER CNC now! I won't be producing his metal items here at TAG any longer. There are a few of these parts on-hand at TAG right now, and they're 15% off to clear out the remaining inventory. If you've been eyeing any of the following items from LJE, now's a great time to save a few bucks!

1X front seat fire extinguisher mount, 3X 2003-2007 fender mount Auxbeam switchboard mount,

Anyone on the fence about buying the tailgate storage from artisan garage, should go get it.

It is a fantastic, high quality product and @MongooseGA is amazing to work with. I foolishly lost some peices of my kit so I reached out to him about purchasing those peices. He shipped the peices out to me within 24 hours - and absolutely refused to charge me for it - despite it being all my fault in losing them!

Folks, this kind of after sales support doesn't exist anywhere, many manufacturers won't even sell you individual peices, let alone just send them to you free of cost. Thank you @MongooseGA, you have got yourself a customer for life!

Thank you Abe, I'm so thrilled you're happy with it! Do you have a finish in mind already? Did you tell me you were going to carpet it?

These are actually out of stock right now, but I should have them back on hand by the end of the month. I do have 80-series versions ready to go.

For those following along with the growth of the site, I've been actively (and I mean *ACTIVELY*) working on the new platform. The shopify site has been great in getting @LJE and I off the ground, but it's almost time to switch over to the new, from-scratch platform. LJE is now producing his own steel parts on his new laser CNC (and being a tremendous help in testing/creating the new site!), which leaves me time to polish the site more. For those who make their own parts or garage tools, and want a platform to get their products sold, this will be an excellent alternative high-fee platforms like Etsy or eBay, with no competition against drop-shippers. I'm half-an-idiot simply punching up, but the last few months have been an incredibly eye opening learning experience.

Prior to doing a full launch and domain swap, you can find all of your favorite TAG and LJE parts over at beta.theartisangarage.com. Put "Beta5" in the store discount field at checkout and get $5 off your order! This is my way to thank customers willing to guinea pig so I can monitor live action on the beta site. Of course, the existing Shopify store is still up and running over at TheArtisanGarage.com.

In other TAG news, I managed to rope a professional videographer buddy of mine in to helping me film an install how-to for the super popular, LJE-designed MSS-L spoiler. Hopefully we can get a nice looking, easy to follow instructional put up soon.

I recently used the new beta site to grab one of LJE's tail light housing things, and one thing I want to mention is that it sent duplicate order confirmation emails... my first assumption was that I'd placed the order twice on accident, but LJE confirmed there was only one placed. Not sure where/what the glitch was, but it feels worth mentioning for troubleshooting.

Thanks for mentioning, and apologies if you got spammed by the confirmations. I'm glad it was just 2! We had a handful of buyers get a ton. It was a glitch in the backside, and *should* be fixed now. As of this afternoon, none of the most recent orders should have received anymore than a single confirmation.

And thanks for trying out the new site!

Only feedback I can offer on that site—the condensed all-caps product titles are a little rough on middle-aged eyes. They work great when larger, like on an individual product, but in the grid view...dangit. One more thing to remind me that I'm old.

Past that though, glad you're seeing some success. I have a handful of these products here and there, and they're all great.

Thanks for that feedback. I may be able to do something about that.

Question: does it make any difference for you if you use the site in light mode vs dark mode? I'm always curious who prefers either of these and why. I almost always use dark mode unless I'm in bright sunlight.

It's been quite a project putting this platform together. I have no clue what I'm doing! Alex @LJE has been amazing in helping me work through bugs, edge cases, what-ifs, etc. We're going to run the beta.theartisangarage.com URL for a while, make sure money is moving correctly, all back-side functions are clean, etc before doing the full domain swap. I'm not willing to compromise his business to switch over to a glitchy site from a stable, reliable shopify store like I have now. But, once the domain swap is complete, I'll open it up for anyone else who wants to become a seller. I think it should be a great way for guys who make things at home to sell without having to compete with foreign drop shippers like most other platforms. We've got a TON of seller features that will allow anyone to run a complete business right in the platform. Now that things are starting to run a little more smoothly, I'm pretty proud of this thing.

No difference, really, at least on that specific front. I work in a pretty bright space, so light vs dark doesn't really make much difference in the day. After hours, it's always dark mode. I honestly didn't even notice it had a light mode until you mentioned it. Small potatoes, though...I know how to zoom when necessary.

Has anyone bought one of these and can tell me where the black plastic piece goes? No instructions were included and I can’t find anything online. I don’t guess.

That's a spacer included in the kit in case your dipstick runs into the ear on the bracket.

Some folks need it, some folks don't. @MongooseGA and I both have LX470s that were built in the same month (Oct of 05) and yet our dipstick routing paths are different. Bizarre!
