I want this one... Picture is from 1990 US Military forces clearing drainage ditch near airfield Japan

Still not sure if it is really a Toyota or somebody just stuck a badge on it... Looking for better info ... If anybody knows more let me know ... Since we are on the subject of tractors and such :)

BTW toyotas first tractor was a 4 ton designated as TR10 ... Built during WWII dec.44'

Luckily you have an early version of the 266 - later models used an aluminum Peerless axle , can't take any real load , ever .
I have sort of a vandetta against vertical shaft engines , mostly due to wear and longevity problems with them . Never meant any offense , it's just a problem with growing up and watching everything in the world go the disposable route compared to what I was used to when young . Some of my tools came quite early - like 7yrs old and still have them today , stuff just lasted a long time and I have a lot of tools from my grandfather as well , still can't find any files that cut as well as his old ones . Even back then , everyone knew how to work on their stuff to at least a decent extent - and if you didn't you'd get heckled a lot . Now kids aren't even taught Shop Class around here , just vocational stuff at a local college - what a joke . I guess age is getting to me - most people here in the farm belt used to be very self-reliant , times have changed a lot and the newer generations are clueless . My grand kids will not be allowed to grow up that way - if I have anything to do with it ...

Everything is power on this machine. I have temperature controlled ac/heat just like a car does. I just set the temperature, turn on the radio, and go to work. Mike, I hope one day to downsize into a smaller rig like yours. :) I must say that this business never lacks excitement. To @drnekFJ40, that's dust created by the 10,000 LB hammer :) It shoots out chips 30' away, hence, the distance of the worker controlling the dust by water.

Nice cat Dave!

Does it have PS and AC?:hillbilly:

They have come a long way from when I started that's for sure.

I've spent many a day dodging debris from those hammers , as well as ducking the bucket on occasion - end up doing a lot of close-quarters work in pits doing casing jobs . The new excavators are like a Caddy on steroids , excellent controls and creature comforts .

It's nice having all the comforts of a Cadillac while at work!

Made some progress on cleaning up the hard top's rain gutters this weekend. Now just to convince myself what the best product for this application, sealing the joint.....Oh, a new soft top & soft doors will be ordered this week.

That looks awesome! What'd you use to clean them up so well?

A razor blade and a sharp 1/2" chisel. I took the razor blade, put it up against the outer metal edge and ran it around the roof a few times till it bottomed out on the metal gutter. Then I took the chisel and carefully (I repeat, carefully) scrapped the gutter, but did not damage the rivets.

I used the SEM seam sealer, ran it 2 seasons with no issues whatsoever, I have the caulking gun if you decide to go that route!

A few upgrades:

Being that the 45286-60909 column cover has the steering lock hole and my '77 doesn't have that feature, I plugged it. I have a CAL-HAWK rubber grommet assortment, and used the RBG-3-1/2" piece. It made a nice fit!

Oh, yesterday I slapped down a few bank-notes for a soft top and some 2-piece soft doors. Yes, I'm going to be criticized by some for my selection of soft top, and may lose a follower or two.....But I've never been one to float the mainstream anyway! :hillbilly:

Mine has what appears to be a factory plug.

It was an idle threat...you called my bluff...I'm here to stay. The OEM tops are pricey, but they look so good...

Yes, OEM top looks really rich/classy to me. I also like that top as it sets the 40 apart from what Jeeps have.
