Cough, cough?

Cough, cough?

LoL,

You know what, My wife has a nice Iphone that is about a year old that recently s*** the bed as a result of the screen failing. I have a Galaxy S10 Plus that is about a year old, and even with updates, I am noticing degrading performance. So if two of the premier names in smart phones struggle to make a damn premium level device that you can expect more than a year of use from, I can not fathom the amount of issues that these units will start experiencing after a year or two of use.

I hope they prove reliable, but for now, I think I am just going to mount a nice tablet and call it a day, If i need to I can just slip the table under the seat

Finally had a chance to hit the trails and went to Wheeler lake. When the cameras kick in in 4LO the map would disappear and the sound would mute. The steering wheel "speak" Button is set up as a mute, so press it and the map comes back along with the tunes. Since I was driving, I didnt take the time to see if there is a multi-window option

I should have expected the mute on the stereo as it is muted when you go into reverse and the backup camera comes on

Besides that, the Gaia map work exactly like it does on my Android tablet. That was a major reason for the upgrade, once less thing I need to have

Any LX owners who installed this?

I was wondering if the rear DVD entertainment can still be operational using the rear remote control?

I watched a YouTube video where a guy installed it on his LX570. I watched it a few months ago but I believe he was not able to use the dvd with the new unit. He did wire in a different screen for his kids for streaming purposes IIRC.

I tried installing Phoenix Auto PX6 in my 570, but could not get it to work properly. No volume, no emergency flashers, radio scan would not lock on a station, bluetooth would not find a bluetooth ODB II adapter and I could not get AMP INFO in Console to allow any changes.

Did get tech support for a video call, but was difficult to communicate due to language. No instructions included. Scheduled a 2nd tech call and the tech was a no show.

Returning for refund. Put OEM back in and it works fine, so not an amp issue.

Why is the EC offroad version $1,000 more? (at least I hope the price on the website is AUD not USD which would make it even worse). They look like the exact same hardware.

I just put a cheap version off aliexpress in my GX470 and mostly like it. on my 200 the radio will cut out and blip on/off after being on for over an hour (bluetooth is fine ...just FM) so I am really thinking about trying this.

Madmarions thread on his install. Click on the thread link for more details

Just finished fitting this 16" Tesla style screen to my 2008 LC200 Sahara. I've put together a video on fitting the unit as they often don't come with install instructions. Very happy with outcome and happy that it integrates Air Con, Rev Cam and Sahara Amp. Bought from Smithnjones who were very helpful. Here is the install and review video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfvtvfsULg8&t=91s

This is awesome, thanks for consolidating @Romer!!

Still working great

A comment on Apple Car Play

I have it in my BMW and I like it because it gives me access to Google Maps and other apps. I don't like you cant read the texts you get, they are read to you and you can respond verbally. Many texts I get also have pictures so I find that use worthless.

Now in the 200, I have an Android Tablet and I played with Carplay but found it annoying. If I want Google maps, the Android has it. It has Giaa maps, wazee any app you can get for an android. I can make calls from the Android, have my contacts loaded, play my music, videos etc. The only thing I don't have is the phone texts. That is really the only thing carplay gives me and as I said I find the way carplay implemented it worthless so dont bother

I can also check my e-mail and surf the web which I havent been able to do with carplay. Of course do it safely :) Google has a voice option for searching

I stopped using carplay in my 200 as there is no advantage in to me personally

Though using the phone as a personal hot spot provides the connectivity that makes carplay so attractive.

just my 2 cents and I am sure there are those that would disagree

Hi, I recently bought and installed one of these for my 2009 LC200 and everything is working well except the air conditioning controls are back to front with the drivers side manual controls activating the passenger side. Does anyone know how to resolve this either through settings or manually by switching some wires around?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Not sure if you have resolved this yet, but here is a video showing the install and right around the 5:40 mark he shows how he fixed that.
Hope it helps.

Anybody try this with a 2016 or 2017 yet? It looks like this model is on sale for like $650 right now so was thinking about checking it out.

That website has a coupon code "ST2020" that takes like another $65 off of that, puts it at $594. Just thought I'd throw that out there to you in case you hadn't seen the code.

Hi

I am having some serious problems with this EC Vision unit on my 2019 VX. Hoping someone can share thoughts on below as support from EC Vision is terrible:

- GPS on google maps, waze and HEMA is so unreliable, if not non existent. I always get prompted to turn on location services on google maps. Sometimes no GPS reception so map doesn't move despite even downloading offline maps. HEMA is the worst culprit. Google sometimes works but when I set a navigation path the GPS times out. Also if I do get GPS the tracking is so jolted and not smooth like toyota maps
- My Samsung doesn't engage android auto when plugged into plug "1" on unit despite latest versions uploaded to EC Vision unit and my phone
- Has anyone noticed this unit is pretty much a copy of the Lsailt Android Unit for LC200 from China? Maybe rebranded?

Another question, if anyone knows, what is the best way to use MIFI on this system rather than your phones data? Or is Android Auto not setup to run from phone simultaneous from WIFI connection from MIFI.

Any help would be so appreciated, I am consider pulling this module out and its good for spotify for me at the moment and nothing else. I bought it for maps.

Cheers

Looks like they came out with a few new units for the LC, 11" and 17". Here's the new 17", looks like they added buttons and finally labeled the wires lol. The BFCM code takes off like $100.

Has anyone installed the 16" unit into a 2010 200 with the JBL Audio? We have everything working but no sound.
I have not installed this unit yet, but I know a couple of others that had this issue and they had to go into the settings and switch ON the "Amp Switch" wire, (and/or) set the "Cur Vol" between 30-50 in the same menu.
