My Android unit has occasionally had issues all in the last year. Once during a snow storm (Coincidence?) the sound crackled like mini spark sounds. Didn't happen again.

A few times after driving a while when I restarted the screen would be blank. It would work after cooling down

Yesterday I had the coolant flushed and the shop had the heat way up to verify everything working. No sound since then.

I have replaced the 3 associated fuses all in different boxes. Jiggled wires, etc

Next step is a factory reset and if that doesn't work try the stock radio and see if that works

I don't believe in coincidences, but could the factory amp have gone bad? Is there an easy way to bypass the amp to see? May be a moot question after I swap the factory stereo back in.

If it is the unit, then I will be looking for a newer Android, maybe some of the irritating things like can't use my phone hot spot, no Android Auto (Mirror link program). etc. I sent EC Offroad and email with a few questions. Seems like Phoenix is the same unit though without some minor customizations from EC Off Road. Anyone have one of the newer ones with Android 10 or 11? Good topic to add to this combined FAQ thread
I would confirm that your cooling fan is running and the thermal paste is looking good and properly contacting the CPU. It's possible that a wire is blocking the fan when everything gets scrunched into place. I "upgraded" my fan to a Noctua.....prolly doesn't make any real difference, but if you wanna be neurotic, go for it!

Not sure what to do with this since it is a sealed unit. Every other function works except sound and I would think a CPU issue would be more widespread causing havoc

Put the stock Radio in - Still no sound

Inspected the F1 connector, nothing wrong I can see. I will spray some Deoxit on it later

I know how to get to the amplifier. There is a youtube video on line. Pretty simple. I can try and check inputs, but not sure that will tell me if it is good or not. Think I will start a new thread since it is kind of buried in here

That is true. Does your unit have multiple outputs you can try? You're sure all audio is turned up in system settings and whatnot? Worst case you may be able to use a cheap little USB audio interface/output or LC2 line converter on the speaker outputs (assuming they're still working)

Stated above, swapped out Tesla for stock setup and get the same thing

I verified power and ground inputs to the AMP under the drivers seat. The fan isn't spinning which means the unit isn't working. So looks like a bad Amp. Ordering a refurbed one on ebay

It was a bad amplifier. Replaced and working great

Key is if there is power and ground and the fan is not running, then the AMP is dead

That's good. I want these to succeed. I am biding my time to allow for more development and maturity while I use the Capuride road top screen.

I like the idea, but the chances that a part for a vehicle that isn’t being made anymore is going to mature much more is probably overly optimistic.
