We need a confirmed list of who is staying where.

Crawford:
Means my brother
4xsteve
Armytaco

Those are the three guys I know of. We may just camp in the back and throw a tent at the trail opening. As of now we are definately in.

patience grasshopper, will have settled shortly.

:bounce:There appears to be 2 cabin openings perhaps 3 if anyone is interested. I think Army Taco had first dibs as he committed to the trip first but will let you guys sort that out. Let me know.:bounce2:

Correct me if I am wrong but ArmyTaco, 4xSteve and 2000UZJ are looking for a bed in the cabin, If I've missed something please let me know.

its jitterbug

ill stay at crawfords, im in it for camping/ going on the trails. im gunna be driving my completley stock daily driver 100 series. Im thinking about ditching the brushgaurd as it hangs down alot, and dont want to bang up the front end with it. but its easily removable via 6 bolts and some blood.

so to put in simpler words. Ill pass on the beds. Thanks though.

Well I gotta park the semi at Crawford's no matter what so I'm probly out too. I did kinda think I might go in if a bed opened, but now that there's a group at Crawford's, I'll probly stay there too. What was the final amount per person determined to be if 10 people do stay in the cabin? Still $40-$50?

If I understand properly the cabin is $125 for the first 2 people, then $10 per head after that up to 10. The math fluctuates a little from there. Here is a pic of the parking lot at the cabin.

Hey guys, I have a possibility of a visitor wanting to tag along for the ride also. My buddy has a lifted FJ Cruiser and has expressed interest. Is there any problems with me inviting another Cruiser? I don't know yet if he'd be staying the whole time or just 1 day ride, but I wanted to check and make sure nobody had a problem with it and that there is room on the trail.

tkinze- I might be getting those beds. I'll let you know as the day goes on. I dont know how comfy ill be in the back of the 100 in 20* weather.

If you're asking you already know the answer. I did a night in the back of my truck about a month ago in 15* weather and I can tell you it aint fun especially when you have to get up in the middle of the night.

haha I'm at toyota right now getting my brakes looked at and I'm freezing. I can't believe I'm about to stay outside.I am most likely gunna take the 2 beds. My brothe it an outdoor person. And camps outside alot. I'm not. Ill post up our decision in an hour or so.

Definitely better to fill out the 10 man cabin first. But for anyone still at Crawford's scared of freezing in a tent, realize that Crawford's also has cheap 4 person bunk cabins with heat. They're pretty much just a big room with beds though. But with 4 people it'd be about $10 per person.

For GSMTR '05, a group of us rented this cabin and the first cabin up the hill for the week. In this cabin, we had two married couples in the main bedrooms (each with a queen bed as I recall) and two solo guys in the 'bunkbed room'. There was sufficient room such that no real problems came to light in a week due to the quarters. Consequently for 2-3 days, you should be close, but laughing about it. The best laughter may result from the possibility of parking 10 trucks close to the cabin and who will get the two spots under the car port each night. But wait there could be more... will the main bedrooms generate their own humor? two beds => four bodies ?!?
i.e., Will the attendance of a bride automatically qualify the couple for one of the private bedrooms rather than the 'bunkhouse'? What can be offered to the brides outh there to entice them to attend?

Could be a lot of fun to watch. Have fun.

Just a quick update. I think everyone has sorted out their accommodations for the most part, there still remains 2 beds open for anyone interested.

For those staying in the cabin, bring cash or a check to pay Tellico Cabins directly.

My plans are this. I am going to meet Eric, Downhill and John at Turner's Corner at 10 AM Monday for the trek north. For those in or near Cumming, Ga. I can meet at the Chick-Fil-a just south of 53 and 400 about 9:15AM.

till then, Merry Christmas

Each one of us probably should bring same extra gasoline to avoid trips back into Murphy. Speaking of gas ----- no chili or baked beans if you are staying in the cabin, please :whoops:.. I also understant that Twisted Ted has the king size bed all to himself and he gets VERY LONELY and Sylvain won't be there. ;)

Map and address to cabin in first post.

If you've been to Tellico via Murphy it's located right where the gravel and pavement meet. The last cabin on the right heading into Trail 1.

The last cabin on the right is just a few hundred yards from the fee station (on Murphy side). Is this what you meant?

In an earlier note, you identified the cabin as Grand Cherokee which is one of several cabins that Chuck Davis rents out. However, the last cabin for rent on the right is several miles closer to the trails than the Grand Cherokee. Having rented both through the years, I think you would enjoy the Grand Cherokee more even with the longer drive to & from the trails.

Dumb question, but gotta ask - does the cabin have a kitchen? I gotta know what to bring fo dinna. If it does, I may break out the chili recipe...
