So I’m bored crazy while I wait for the pistons and rods I ordered. Everything else has been serviced. I’m not used to not having piggy. I drive it every day when I get home from work to take the dogs and my self for exercise.

So to continue the chronological “build thread”.
After I got the headliner done I took inventory of what my mistress of the dark side was missing. In the scheme of things, not much. It took about 3 years to collect the few missing bits as follows.

Glove box door (SOR) to replace the wood door made from a 2x6.
2 aluminum threshold sills (found a full set on graigslist excellent condition)
Front and rear bumpers
The yellow style cast jack cranks, I still had the jack from my 72 (35 years)
The rubber accordion air intake duct
Missing brake/seat belt light cluster, just put a red button light under dash.
Non retractable seat belts ( don’t like retractable)
Cargo area floor mat

Everything else was stock and original to the piglet. While taking care of the deferred maintainance, every nut, bolt or screw has come loose as though it were assembled yesterday.

Things I replaced due to deterioration:

License plate lights
Chrome rims on rear reflectors
Felt runners on rear window
Rear window weatherstrip

The PO painted the cargo floor with gator liner but it was so rough you could’nt kneel on it so I removed that and painted it the original white #31.

Other areas that have been serviced:

From front bearings and seals replace and re-greased, and recently installed a Harropp locker, to servicing the rear window mechanism.

So when I made the decision to take my itty bitty twiddly piggy (sorry, baby talk just comes out when I’m around it) to have it’s internal organs cleansed, I had to make the decision as to whether to take it to a brothel or a spa! Well against my better judgment I chose the spa. Although both have the ability to cleans the inner organs I felt that the latter would have a better longer lasting effect.

To find the right spa was the next conundrum. Pretty hard to find one that even comes close the kind of class it’s used to. Here is the dive it ended up in for its pampering and inner body cleansing.

All serviced or new, sitting there anxiously waiting for the piston and connecting rods. Pistons are in the lathe lab, ready next week. Connecting rods are in the que, date: early April unless the get bumped up

What kinda guestion is that. Don’t all spas have bus hoists. That was Ray Charles tour bus going through a resto process.
