My initial thought is, maybe this thread is better served on a Prerunner forum, but let's see what you guys have to say. I am looking for new seats, will go 4 total 2 front and 2 rear. The choices are SO abundant, but they all look the same. Do you know what makes one stand out as "Better" than the other? Looking at PRP, BEARD, MASTERCRAFT, TWISTED STITCH, CORBEU. I am leaning toward the PRP seats merely b/c they are not the MOST expensive and a lot of the rock racers use them, but on the other hand the desert guys lean toward Mastercraft and Beard.

What do you think?

The answer is the one that fits your butt the best..

This makes me think that not too many pple here run these seats

Sam as you know high sided seats are a major PITA to get in and out of unless your sliding down into them Ie. a caged vehicle. I have been working on a brand new product that I think you guys are really going to dig. I have a few sets out right now being tested and into the testing for about 5 mos. now. I'm getting back rave reviews so Im about ready to pull the trigger. Maybe you should be the Ginnie Pig for fitting it into your 80?
Give me a holler we might be able to fit ya up when you come to So Cal Diego next time.

All custom fit stuff... No cookie cutter stuff here.

High back and high bolster comparable to the Mastercraft Pro series only reclinable?
And some other features like a speaker in the headrest for the cb, seat heaters, and one thing that is not for the public just yet!

This set was built for a famous IH Scout.

I have the Mastercraft Rubicons and love them.

I have corbeau and like them. Don't know any different.

I've got a set of Corbeau's and a set of PRP's...between the two, PRP. They are better made and can be easily customized/made to order.

Both sets are comfy, the PRP is a bit firmer which I prefer.

I'm needing a new set myself for the HZJ79...daily-driver use. Still unsure what direction I'll go just yet.

I have some racing seats from a company called cipher. they are not suspension seats, but they do have the high side bolsters. i really like the bolsters in the thigh/hips area, but up top they are a tad uncomfortable, since I have fairly wide shoulders and they are pushed inwards by the seat. I have sat in a bunch of seats, and i think the mastercradts, followed closely by the beards, were the most comfortable I have tried. All of the rest were pretty comparable. I just got the rear suspension bench from corbeau, and I will probably eventually be replacing my front seats with the Baja rs, or SS, because they are a bit more forgiving in the shoulder area.

I had some MasterCraft seats and liked them a lot.

Considering some more, price is all that holds me back!

I am curious. Has anyone ever tried using a suspension base for a normal seat? Like some Cruisers had or like semi truck drivers use? I have thought a lot about using a suspension base with a normal seat rather than an actual suspension seat.

Cheers

I have literally thousands of off road (desert racing miles) on my mastercrafts and they have held up very well.

I had the Corbeau Baja SS's a while back, the seat covers fell apart almost immediately. They did send new ones free of charge, but I put the new covers on and sold them.

As others have said if you want to hop in and out much the high side bolsters suck.

I like what I see from Metal Twister, those gotta be some coin though.

Had to bring this BTT...

Anyone have any experience w/ the SMITTYBILT suspension seats?? They're a lot less expensive, but was wondering about the quality.
I'm looking to get a set as the race seats I have just plain SUCK for dirt road running and they JAR the eff outta you.
Read a deal on pirate that said the covers came apart, but the reviewer did say they were comfortable.
Another question...
Anyone running their suspension seats WITH a tuffy console in a 40?!
I really love my arm rest!!!

I'd be interested in this info too. I like the fact they are recliners and you can buy them individually. Are they any good, though?
