roadtrip to pismo has officially begun. treeroot and i are headed through glenwood canyon on our way to proffitt's for stop one

Then I am seriously humbled. I work at Oceano airport, and can hear the dirtbikes running all day. So sad for me.

Ok I have a stupid question.

I have a friend who was planning on tagging along with me, and he just told me that his girlfriend wants to come along too. Since I have a 40 and he doesn't want to subject his girl to riding in the jump seat for three hours or so, he was wondering if there was a place he could park for a couple nights (not on the beach), so he could drive up separately.

Honestly I don't care if it doesn't work because it doesn't affect me, but I said I'd ask.

I might be able to arrange parking at Oceano Airport. They generally charge $10 bucks a night, but if they know the car is with me, they probably wouldn't care. I pay rent here and I never park here, so I don't think it would be a problem. PM me if that is an option for you. The entrance to the airport is about .5 miles from the dunes entrance.

One more day of work for ME!!!!!!!!

Decided to get in a quick last min project on Sunday, but with my two helpers in the pictuers we had it back together that day. Stoked, ready for pismo!!. I am bring my dad and father in law. My buddy Matt is driving his cruiser too, should be great. See you all at Pismo, please say Hi when you see my rig.

ok im coming from oxnard (ventura area) i know where pismo is but how exactly do i get there? im just shooting up 101 but what are the exits?

101 west, exit Grand make a left. go ALL the way down grand make a left at the light after the train tracks on Pacific Blvd, then a right at the next light Pier Ave (Mexican Restaurant on the corner), go down, pay the toll man, or pick up permit drive onto the beach and go left. about 3.3 miles.

Bummer man, technical dificulties?

Life difficulties -- my wife's job situation has become uncertain in the last few weeks. I've been holding off pulling the plug, hoping things would stabilize, but at this point it's still flaky so I need to keep expenses checked.

Things will get better, and Pismo will still be there next year, so I'll enjoy it through the Internets one more time.

Another question from a SnT first timer.

Does anyone know if it is possible to call the ranger station (or equiv.) and have them stash my permit somewhere so I don't have to be up with the dawn patrol to head back out and grab it (done this backpacking a few times)? OR Is it possible for me to send my ReserveAmerica paperwork to someone who is arriving on Friday during business hours to grab my permit for me?

Since I'm heading to Pismo one day earlier than planned, is it possible to extend my reservation at the gate? what time does it close on Friday?

Also, the park entrance is at the end of Grand Ave., right? Gotta confirm this since I haven't been to Pismo for a while now, and it's gonna be dark by the time I get there.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just pay for a single night at the gate when you arrive. Let them know that you have the remainder of the nights paid for already.

Just FYI on the speed limit when getting on the beach. I know some of you will be rolling in late and excited to get there, but they will ticket if you go over the 15mph beach limit on the way to pole 6.

Of course you can always prettend you've never driven on sand and they will let you off Don't ask!
