Trans:
Rebuilding the trans that was in storage
New marlin thrust washer (recommended for builds with 300+ ft/lbs of torque)
New bearing retainer as well

The 1/2 gear slider is also reverse on these and the teeth are awful so I’m ordering a new one of those as well.
We will see if all this work fixes the noises

Tcase
Was grinding in 2wd after front diff was installed but not in 4wd at speeds above 30mph

4wd area of the tcase was spotless
Between the 2 low range cases there were some
bits.
Trans side snap ring had come off
Was also low on fluid I think not really sure

Going open it or scope it. Just doesn’t make sense for the 4wd/2wd to make a difference if it’s the low range area that has crap.
Looked good through the top but who knows

Front diff
I didn’t build it
I have no idea
Seems fine but idk

If it is the one part that I paid to get done imma be pissed

Going to run the manual for a bit longer still fun
If it explodes or I get bored I’m going to a built th350 with a manual valve body
Why 350 instead of a 400 is because the 350 can use my current tcase.
If I blow that up then who knows.

Actually no haha
There is a cnc plate on the otherside that fits up to the inside of that strap shackle
these are just axle straps correct? if so one buddy had that triangle rip apart on him a couple years back FYI

Yessir
Noted I guess I need to get those off of there then haha thanks for letting me know

On paper it should last longer and shift better
Honestly manual transmission was fairly easy to put together obviously a few more moving parts and some special tools but hey I’m excited
Allegedly
Got talked into drag racing next year

All back together just tightening some bolts today
Just in time to give some people a ride over the holidays
Going to actually try to break in the clutch correctly this time
Last one appears to be glazed.

Truck is back together runs and shifts better than it ever has before grinding noise is still there but I believe have found it, it is definitely the front driveshaft needs to be lengthened 2” because it is flopping like a fresh caught tuna
Also I don’t see any leaks either which is a first

4wd working other than the driveshaft issue?

Just too little purchase on the splines?
I think so. It was also out of phase by 1 spline seems a little better now that it is in phase
I might grease it up and see if that helps.
It is about 2” from fully collapsed so I am unsure adding length will help. But total travel is about 3”

Updates!
Creature comforts
Working windows
Switch panel from Auxbeam
Heat and defroster from vintage air

almost tolerable aluminum welds
In my defense I have no idea what I’m doing

Pro welders close your eyes the engineer is behind the helmet😂
It held 50psi. I hid far away from it.

Radiator expansion tank

Top 2 go to the top of the radiator and the top of the engine
Bottom goes to the inlet of the radiator
Should auto burp the system. Also shouldn’t need an overflow, we will see.

Also doing some CF over cardboard tape and paint
Who would know, I will, it will be hilarious

Well now that I have spent over a week on a piece of plastic I think I know how to do it more correctly

Don't feel bad, I don't think I've ever made anything right the first time.

Except mistakes, I've made those flawlessly right outta the gate.... 😆
Lots of those in this thread 😂

Finally done
Now time to do the center console and redo the seat mounts(literally the first welding I did on this truck) going to tie the cage in to them and the whole bit. Plus cup holders. Super exciting.

Also for those interested I’m making some long travel for the 4runner.
