I wonder if the crayon trick would work on your glue (wax paper and an iron)

How is the fabric when compared to OEM? Would you say that its comparable or better? I wasnt looking for carpetting but I also changed my leather, and will be doing the dynamating also, so why not change the carpet. Will the dynamat fit with the mass backing or should i not get the mass backing? What are your thoughts on that?

I would say that is is comparable in quality but has a slightly different feel. I would not say that it's an upgrade in quality.

I really like the mass back option and am not sure that you would need dynamat on the floor with it. Both should fit though.

Turned out really good! Thanks for the writeup and pics!

This project really came out well.

Anyone have some more detailed pics of this kit? Strange that the interest kinda died with this option. I cleaned my oem one but it still kinda smells....

Looking forward to some pics and maybe little things you encountered while installing.

I thought I was going to have to do this because my truck stunk when I bought it. It was a moldy, musty odor that airing out didn't help. I then sprayed the carpet and mats with a citrus based odor remover which helped somewhat, and then a Meguiars carpet odor spray which left a strange smell but much better still. I cleaned/conditioned the leather next and now the leather smell of the conditioner (Wolfgang) predominates. The interior actually smells pretty good now so I guess I dodged a bullet there. The carpet is actually in very good shape, plus the 40th Anniversary carpet mats which are all good except the drivers floor which is just ok.

Did you miss post 26? Pretty detailed write up and plenty of good pictures... I don't think you have many options and at that price it's the best out there

Bringing this back from the dead. I scanned the thread, but didn't see a mention of which color choice the OP used?

I did not see it either, however I just ordered some samples and the closest match I could find was Sandstone (8655). It's not exact by any means. The OEM carpet is grayer. I didn't order any gray samples, so I may order a few more to see if they are closer. It's dark here and my phone isn't capturing the colors well, but this is what it looks like (on the right). I'll try again when the light is better.

Darkness, did you by chance peel back a corner of the original carpet to reveal an area that hasn't been exposed to the sun? I am always amazed at how much the stock carpets fade from the sun. You may find it easier to match the original carpet if you compare the samples to an unfaded area.

I ordered some samples as well, will report back next week.

Cool! The neat thing is that they can also mold vinyl floor mats for any set they offer molded kits for. So if carpets not your thing switch over to coloured vinyl.
