I received my steering wheel back from Craft Customs yesterday. As mentioned earlier, they are not able to remove the OEM leather without removing the heating element in/under the OEM leather. My options were to have Craft Customs remove the OEM leather and replace with new, thus losing the heat function, or have Craft Customs wrap new leather over the OEM leather and retain the heat function. I chose the latter.

Below are before and after photos of my steering wheel. I didn't measure the OEM leather thickness as I didn't realize it couldn't be removed without removing the heat function until after I had shipped my wheel. The heat function still works and the heat is noticeable through the additional layer of leather. It's tough to compare the effectiveness of the heat as all I have to compare to is using the steering wheel heat several months ago. I don't like the leather "lips" where the leather meets the wood.

I ended up ordering a new Toyota wheel which I will install when it arrives. With limited time discounts, the new wheel was $561 versus ~$540 round trip to Craft Customs.

I see what you mean in regards to the lips at the wood trim, that would pester me as well.

Other than that, what are your thoughts on the quality of the leather compared to the wheel when it was stock? Having just installed the full leather OEM wheel replacing the OEM HE wheel I feel like it was a upgrade in quality and feel over the wood trimmed HE wheel.

This thread is mistitled. This is not an upgrade. It’s a lower trim replacement.

I just replaced my OEM steering wheel on my ‘19 with another OEM. The wood and leather issues have been fixed.

You’re confident it won’t have the same leather quality problems?

I wonder what the date of manufacture of your wheel is. Mine had a inspection sticker dated October of 2020 and had issues.

I don't have my steering wheels back from Craft Customs, but Serra Toyota is running 25% off Toyota parts and the all leather steering wheel comes out to $561 right now. You won't see the full discount until you go to checkout. Shipping is crazy high, but they credit back the shipping at checkout.

Part number is 45100-60A91-C0

Just did the same!
My 17's wheel is awful, it certainly has the 16/17 leather peeling package.

Would you please share the part number you got? I am with you that I actually like the wood (or plastic, whatever) in the wheel.

My problem is that mine is a HE and have the bronze stitching. I am still on the hunt for that part number with bronze stitching.

Oh, and you are correct. The all-leather wheel, although OEM, is offered overseas in the mid-grade LCs, while the one with wood is offered in the higher spec offered here.

Email Lincoln Frash at Ed Martin Toyota. I get everything from him.

OK, HE guys. I followed @dnh1 advice (thanks a bunch man) and emailed Lincoln. Let me tell you, the guy is awesome and help me a ton. We were finally able to pinpoint the part number for the OEM Heritage Edition Wheel with the bronze stitching. Pasting a picture below of the number and of the wheel I received today. It is so nice, that I am now questioning if I should install it or abuse mine a bit more (since it is not that bad) and wait a couple more years. Now, note that when you plug that PN in the system, it will say "black and ivory" in the description. That threw me off, but when Lincoln sent me a pic of the actual wheel, it was the right one. If anyone wants to buy too, I suggest sending him an email and confirming the right PN with a pic. Good luck on the hunt.

God that looks good.

The wood model in Australia is for the high end 200s.

I prefer the full leather as guys here have pointed out.

My 45100-60A91-C0 finally came in, very straight forward swap.
I'm very happy with it, the PO must have worn a lot of jewelry as the factory wheel was way worse than most I've seen.
I actually like the genuine wood and leather wheel in my LX470, but for the Toyota, I think the all leather is perfect.
If anyone wants the old wheel to send out and be reupholstered, it's yours for the ride.

That looks awesome.

Can you confirm the difference between the 60A91-C0 wheel (the superceded wheel) and the 60A90-C0 wheel (updated wheel)

What changed?

Regarding the heating element that’s in this steering wheel - how does it work?

Is there a switch in the NA 200s for the steering g wheel heater?

on '16+ 200s the heated steering wheel switch is next to the seat heater/cooler controls.

As dudemancool1904 pointed out, button on the center console.

Not sure. All I can attest too is the 45100-60A91-C0 is a direct plug and play on a LHD 2017.

It looks like the PO used a lot of oils, lotion or sanitizer in their hands. It even ate through the wood in the top section, which I had never seen before. The wood usually becomes shiny like in the bottom, but not like that in the top. Crazy.

I wonder if the leather in your new all-leather wheel feels the same as the leather in my wood-leather for the HE. Your looks a bit more "sturdy".
