The 90915-20004 does not apply to the 01 4runner. It fits F (with spin-on mount) 2F, 3F, 1FZ, 4.0 V6 and 4.7 V8 as well as the Lexus V8's.

It also fits the 22RE. :grinpimp: A nice upgrade. In a pinch I spun one on my 4cyl Camry when I was too lazy to pay you a visit. Talk about over kill.

90915-20002 is replaced by 90915-20004

I have a 90915-20002 filter on my "parts" shelf. Is that appropriate for my '04 LC? Somehow I got the idea it was a leftover from my 1994 6 cyl LC?

If the 20002 is OK for the '04...is it a "good" filter or would I be better off just using the YZZD3?

Thanks...Tom R

The 04 superceded the 02. The 02 is a good 'small' filter. I would use it.

They are 8 bucks and change a piece.

Dan, do you still have these 20004 filters in stock at your dealership?

it is kinda hard to follow this thread as it has transgressed a couple years!:hillbilly:

Thanks Dan, Over here they are actually a little more expensive, about 10 bucks a pop from what I found online and then shipping too. I guess the only way to make them a little cheaper is buying in bulk.

I may have to try one of these on my truck, heard someone mention they worked on the 22RE, I want to try one on my 3RZ-FE, not sure if the o-ring sticks out or not if you know what I mean. My filter has to have the o-ring protruding past the metal of the base of the filter.

Alas, the 90915-20004 has gone the way of the doo-doo bird, not to be confused with the dodo bird. It seems Toyota has allowed the greatest filter ever manufactured to slip off the face of the earth, the last of which was consumed by the mighty Land Cruiser.

But, you are in luck. Just the other day I was hiking in the hills west of Albuquerque when I came across a strange inscription on the volcanic rocks. It looked very similar to "TEQ." After moving around the smaller rocks underneath I found a well wrapped box with red lettering. It said "Toyota Genuine Parts, Oil Filters, 90915-20004, Qty 10." There was also a case of Shiners. I can only surmise that a primitive member of the Busey clan stashed them there as preparation for the end of the earth. Realizing that I had struck the Mother Lode, I quickly covered up the stash with the intention of coming back after dark to retrieve my prize.

So for a limited time offer I have a few of them available to the Land Cruiser community. The price is $29.95, plus shipping and handling from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Quantities are limited, only two per household, please.

J/K :grinpimp:, no really.

Is this you bringing me the packing list? :hillbilly:

Anyone know the difference between these and the 15600-41010 filters?

I learned a lot something new reading this thread. I had always used the big filter just because that is what it came with when I bought it. My last order to Cdan I asked him what oil filter he preferred for 80's and he sent me the 20004. Have to admit I like it better just for the easier cleanup during oil change.

Can you get the big 15600‑41010 filter?

C dan what's the difference between the 41010 filter and 20004 filter?

Where would you like me to begin?

The 15600-41010 is significantly larger and has a paper element. The 90915-20004 has a synthetic element. The synthetic element appears to to a better cleaning job and the filter is much easier to get in and out. In addition it does not dump a pint of dirty oil on the front axle housing when you spin it off. The 15600-41010 bumps the total oil capacity by about a pint (the same one that ends up on the axle housing).
