advanced adapters 4 to 1 low range gears will bring my low range from 39 to 1 down to 79.5 to 1. (with 4.10 axle gears)

If I go with 3.73 gearing, final low range will be 72.3 to 1. Not that bad of a loss since I have 3.73 gears growing like weeds around here. There is also a 10% high range final drive drop which will make my high way cruising just about the same. Speedo calibration yet to be determined?

Some body talk me into buying these gears PLEASE!

~80:1 is pretty awesome for crawling around. That's about my setup right now. I'm a fan, go buy them!

I'm buying them as soon as I can afford them, 105:1 as I am now is pretty awesome my main reason for wanting them is to use them for the hi-range underdrive as a highway regear. It's like going to 4:56's for me.

You have a doubler or really low axle gears for 105 to 1?

Drove about a thousand km's on a family adventure and forgot my camera till the end. Good thing my wife brought hers. Also bought a Fj 80 full floating rear end with disk breaks. Well the whole trip cost about $600us. The axle was only 150us and came with a 8" third Which I put up for sale already.

Now about to join the big boys club, well maybe if I buy the AA 4 to 1 gears but lets talk about axles. Out with old and in with the new. Time to get grinding and cutting. Then some welding, I might have to relocate my tracbar to the drivers side as its sits centered. The fj 80 rear end has a much more centered 3rd. Which I think it will be in the way. Too bad I am heading out to Newfoundland for two weeks to work on a boat or else I would be diving straight into this project. Turtle speed!!

Forgot to mention.. This axle is 6" wider than my stock bj60 axle. I do have 2" wheel spacers which I won't be using anymore. So thats an extra inch out on both sides, should add some extra stability on those sketchy side slopes.

I woke up a 5:30am and figured that I wouldn't wake my neighbors using the torches. I did get about half way then my oxygen tank ran out. Took the family wagon to the local parts store to exchange the tank. My daughter fell asleep on the way home. Then I was able to finish cutting the rest off as she slept not so quietly in the cruiser while listening to radio head.

That's a good deal for what's quickly becoming a very popular upgrade for the few of us that are still actually wheeling 60's... I love my 80 axle. For the effort/cost involved, probably my favorite mod.

How'd you crack that diff housing?

I had a Wanted add for a toyota 4.10 3rd add on craigslist and a guy down in bellingham responded.

Snapped the pinion shaft and then the pinion colided with the ring gear and boom. Second one for me.

I got everything cleaned up on that axle. Wow! that was alot of grinding. Now to get my weld on. Spring perches, shock mounts and the traction bar mount which I think I will fab out of 3/8ths steel.

I will have to run the track bar on a slight angle due to the diff being a little more centered than the 60 housing. I don't think it should be a problem? I suppose I could cut and re-weld the shackle side on the cross member on my frame but Im feeling kinda lazy.

Ordered the fj80 master cylinder to match the rear disk brakes too!

If you are going to use it hard, you may want to truss that 80 axle from flange to flange. The original truss doesn't do that.

I don't think I'll ever jump my truck? But I did think about trussing it. The do look cool when they're trussed. hmmmm? It does weigh alot. 7200 pounds.

Ok fine, I'm gonna truss it. Like why not right? I going to have the welder out, plus she'll look real nice from the rear. You convinced me white stripe.

I mean if u got the welder out already it's a good preventative measure and doesn't cost much
