that is a good one in a good snow year but in bad snow years not much there. I lived in cool for a couple years and it was hit or miss depending on the snow level.Wentworth springs/ Uncle Tom's cabin is my yearly snow run. We camp at Wentworth
Do you mean the stock e-brake?here is a crazy idea but has anyone ever looked at using the TG studless hub for the rear hub on the full float axle? it would eliminate that one weak point and add alot of engagement area on the splines of the shaft.
Longfield Studless Hub (Toyota) - https://trail-gear.com/axles/longfield-studless-hub-toyota.html
only tough part is seeing what it would do to track width and getting the stock rear brakes to work.
yeah the e brake, or if the entire stock brake and e brake system could be used in the rear with some figuring.Do you mean the stock e-brake?
For those that keep full time 4WD, this looks to be a good option on the front. Longfield is a reliable brand, (from what I hear). Actually, if these would also work on the rear axle, it would be a simple way, (if installed on all four,) to release the drive train for flat towing.
that is a bummer if you can break them on a mini truck. do you remember what part failed? I know with TG it seems to be hit or miss on their metallurgy. guess it is another cool concept that is not that cool.I'm not a fan of the TG studless. I had a buddy this year with a mini truck break one off at the Rubicon. Luckily he had a Fj80 OEM flange and hardware to trail fix. He got out on the stock 80 flange. LOL
I think the 7/16 and dowels should hold up great. I'm not the first to do this and plenty of MUD guys have already made the jump to 7/16.
There’s is this guy on here who wheels tough trails on 39’s with stock size hardware and has never broken down. I believe his mud handle is @Broski. I’ve never broken mine either but I run small 37’s so…..I'm not a fan of the TG studless. I had a buddy this year with a mini truck break one off at the Rubicon. Yeah, that's not good news! I thought it was a Longfield modified hub, not TG.that is a bummer if you can break them on a mini truck. do you remember what part failed? I know with TG it seems to be hit or miss on their metallurgy. guess it is another cool concept that is not that cool.

No dowels?
As you know the dowels they give you are stupid short. I ordered some USA made hardened 5/16 x 1" dowels from Amazon. Waiting for them.......No dowels?
