So, I was cleaning up some boxes (junk) and found these. Some in good shape and some have scratches. You can put music and use it in your rig or give them to your kids. I don't have enough for everyone going to the camping but I will be bringing these to give away to fellow mudders that are going. If I find more I will bring them.

dang dude, much appreciated gesture for the trip! next year we may have to organize a raffle killed my last ipod and it lives in my truck now. only works off the stereo deck since I killed the screen lol
 
I got a Yaesu ft60. It's dual band so I have 2m and 70 cm. thanks all!

I didn't place an order because my plans were temporarily canceled. Did you mention earlier that you made extra to bring up? If so can I reserve a Medium?

Ch. 1-3 MURS are supposed to be narrow-band, so it's an extra setting on a radio like a UV-5R. It's technically limited to 2W, and a UV-5R only has the option of 1W or 5W.

MURS ch4, 154.570 MHz, at 1W, wide-band, or (my vote) we could do GMRS ch1, 462.5625 at full-power.

GMRS is technically licensed, but there's a long-standing proposed rule at the fcc to make the band unlicensed. Everyone and their mother buys radios in a blister pack and uses them at will.
 
So, unfortunately, I will have to pass on this trip (was waiting for months on this). A cousin of mine (21yrs old and saw him since he was a baby) just passed away. I will have to be home for the services and hate to leave my uncle with this great loss. He (my cousin) is his eldest son.

The iPods i've mentioned are still for everyone in this group. If someone from San Jose is attending, I can drop off the goodies (iPods) to you (next week) or mail them to you or maybe mail them to KWalkerM (if you're OK with that) or anyone that is willing to take charge. I will ship them via Priority so you'll get them in two days. I live in the Peninsula area...

I'm sorry for your loss. 21 is way too young.
 
man my condolences to you and your family. must be hard.
Hopefully if this is a huge success we can do more planned trips in the future.

So sorry for your loss man, family first and I completely unferstand the choice to stay home for that. Shoot me aessage and I will get tour shirts to you asap or I can refund the money to you. Darrell live in SJ and im sure would be willing to pick up the ipods if you still want to do that. Juat let us know and we are willing to accomodate you

Hey guys. Your going to have to move me to the "maybe" section. Im busting my ass on this 12HT swap, but Im not sure if Ill be able to make it up this year. Ill give it my best shot though!!! Id love to join you guys.

I also dont have any radio system, so I wont be able to communicate on trail. I might be able to get a second hand CB from one of the guys at Mudrak, but nothing for sure.

Don't worry about the radio, you don't really NEED one up here. I have a cheap CB in mine, its nice when your on a trail with a group and you can give others a heads up or just bull****, but half the time you can't understand whats coming out of it anyway. The guys with the HAM setups have it made, way more range and its super clear.

I'm in Cupertino 5:30-9pm Mon-Wed for a class, and south SJ the rest of the time. Let me know if you want to drop them off or meet up.
 
Thanks for the kind thoughts guys... very much appreciated... It's just sad the way it happened. They saw him on the tree hanging by the neck... At first, Fremont PD ruled suicide, but now they're looking at a different angle, foul play included. His truck is missing and so is the girl/junkie that he met. They pinged her phone and it was located in Nevada already.

damn thats rough and a really horrible situation. just my 2 cents but you might not want to talk about an active investigation on a public forum just in case.

dont worry about shipping ill get em to ya on my dime or give them to darrell at the trip and he can drop them off with you when its convienet to both. either is fine with me
